COAL GROVE, Ohio (June 5) - The fourth race of the season was able to get underway on Friday, June 6th at the Rocky Top Raceway under sunny skies. Despite the hot temperatures, the track was in excellent shape as it was very fast with a strong cushion.

In the 30 lap Late Model A-Main, Kenny Christy and Josh McGuire battled side by side for the lead for the first three laps before a caution flag flew for Darrin Loop. On the restart, Christy continued with the lead until another caution flew on lap ten. On the restart, Christy and McGuire battled side by side for eight laps straight with McGuire taking the point on lap 19 to go on and take his first RTR win in over a year! Christy finished second with Audie Swartz third, Joe Ramey fourth, and Brandon Queen fifth. McGuire and Christy won Engines Inc. heat races.

Fast qualifier Randy Boggs took the lead at the start of the Tomahawk Race Car Modified A-Main with Todd Robinson moving into the second position. Meanwhile, the best battle on track the whole race long was for the third position between David Fitzpatrick, Jason Perry, and Adam Jordan. Boggs was untouchable on the night as he went on to lead every lap and claim his fifth career RTR win! Todd Robinson finished second with Adam Jordan third, Jason Perry fourth, and David Fitzpatrick fifth. Boggs and Robinson won Engines Inc. heat races.

Perhaps the best race of the night came in the Bomber A-Main. David Dunn took the lead at the start while Wayne Hughes, Perry Dearing, and Jeremie Bretz were all right on Dunn's tail to make it a four car battle for the lead! Around the halfway mark of the race, Hughes and Dunn made contact while battling for the lead! Hughes was charged with the caution and Dunn got his spot back. On the restart, the three car battle for the lead continued between Dunn, Dearing, and Bretz the entire race long. On the final lap, Bretz got a good run on the high side and pulled right up beside Dunn. Into turn three, Bretz carried his high side momentum to make the last lap pass for the win! Dearing finished second with Dunn third, John Rayburn fourth, and Shane Pendleton fifth. Dunn and Dearing won Engines Inc. heat races.

In the 15 lap Mod Lite A-Main, Tony Sites and Chris Stone battle side by side for the lead for the first several laps until Stone spun and had to go to the rear of the field. On the restart, Jerry Cushing moved up into second and battled side by side for the lead with Sites before he spun a few laps later. Cushing's spin now moved Stone back into the second position as he battled side by side for the lead with Sites on the restart. After a few laps of side by side racing, Stone was able to clear Sites and go on to claim his first career RTR feature win! Sites finished second with Cushing third, Harold Kuhn fourth, and Randy Armes fifth. Sites won the Engines Inc. heat race.

One of the biggest races of the season and the start of the "Super Late Model Super Month of Money" will come next Friday, June 13th for the "Tri-America Contractors 50" and "Tri-America Contractors 25". On the card will be Late Models going 50 laps for $5,000 to win, Bombers going 25 laps for $1,000 to win in the highest paying Bomber race in the entire region, and Mod Lites $200 to win. Tomahawk Race Car Modifieds will have the night off. This will definitely be a "can't miss race" as General Admission is $20 with Pit Admission $30. Gates open at 4:00 pm with Hot Laps at 7:30 pm.
