WILLIAMSBURG, Ohio (June 6) - On a hot summer night at Moler Raceway Park the racing was as hot as the weather. The "Hoss" Barry Doss took the green flag from the pole position and would never relinquish the lead in the 25 lap Sunesis Construction Late Model Event. The Howser's Discount & Garage, G & J Trucking, Cincy Granite sponsored machine was on rails all night as he won his heat event and the A main to take home the $1,000 paycheck. Following Doss was fifth place starter John Whitney Jr. followed by Mike Amell and Mike Myers of Fayetteville with a strong fourth place finish (after starting 8th).

In the Phantom Fireworks Pure Stock division the streak of no repeat winners continued as they put on one of the best feature events you could expect to see with 5 guys soo close you could have put a blanket over them. With $600 on the line the pure stocks started off with Ed Reynolds leading from the start with Ed Johnson, Derek Davis, Shawn McIntosh running three wide behind him. A lap 18, incident taking out Johnson and Davis caused a restart which brought Roger Ison and Kyle McIntosh into the picture. Upon the restart there was contact that took out Ison and Shawn McIntosh and enabled another restart in which Kyle McIntosh of Versailles, Indiana snuck by Reynolds to take his first career win and the $600. Ed Reynolds came home second followed by Mike Keller, Shawn McIntosh, and Ed Johnson (who changed a tire and restarted from the tail).

In the UMP modified feature event it was evident from the start that either Brandon Green was going to win his second consecutive feature at MRP or Doug Adkins was going to get the win and get away from the bridesmaid position he's landed in so often this season. From the start it looked like Green was going to win it as he got the jump and sped off in search of win number 2 at MRP. Following a red flag on lap nine for two separate incidents one off of turn four involving the number 15 of Ron Strack and an ensuing fire while in turn number two the #412 machine of Mike Jefferson took a nasty barrel roll through the infield with his machine ending the incident on its roof. Both drivers were OK and once the incident was cleaned up the restart allowed Doug Adkins to take his Loose Gruff chassis past Brandon Green and into the top spot. Adkins led the next ten laps but on the final lap Brandon Green was able to get to the high side entering turn one and was able to hold that position through the next lap to inch by Adkins at the line by less than 3 feet. Adkins came home second with Peebles, Ohio's Dave Jamison coming home third followed by Rick Jones and fifth place finisher Ray Branscum who started all the way back in 16th position. Brandon Green will be going for 3 wins in a row next week as the Battle of the Bluegrass Modified tour brings its series to the Buckeye State for their only visit of the season next Friday night June 13th.

In the 600cc Mini-Sprints it was all Todd Keen all the way as the youngster led all 15 laps enroute to his first feature event win at MRP and 2nd career win. He was followed across the line by a hard charging Beau Stewart who passed three cars in the last couple of laps to take second with Daryl Mangus and Herschel Wills coming home third and fourth.

In the Chevette class it was once again a battle between Brandon Elam and 2007 Track Champion Miles Tarvin as those two ran bumper to bumper the whole race with Tarvin out front and Elam on his bumper. A lap 13 caution set the stage for a two lap shootout and Elam got a good jump to the outside of Tarvin but a caution foiled the attempt and caused yet another restart. It looked like Elam was going to get another good jump on the next restart but an apparent flat tire spoiled his chances. With Elam pitside, Tarvin and his Patriot Signs, Richey Automotive, Midnight Run Trucking sponsored Chevette would roll on to yet another feature win. Following Tarvin across the stripe was Kevin Riggs, Chris Vance, Chris Eick Jr, and Don Ellis.

Moler Raceway Park will be back in action June 13th for a tribute to Dad's. The nights events include, the first ever visit from the Battle Of The Bluegrass Modifieds paying $1500 to win, Sunesis Construction Late Models, UMP Modifieds, Phantom Fireworks Pure Stocks, and chevettes.
