MILLERSBURG, Ohio (June 6) - Clint Coffman from Ashland Ohio maintained his points lead in the American Payroll Advance Lakeville Late Model racing action on Friday night. The temperature was scolding hot and the drivers gave the fans a very hot and exciting fast paced program.Coffman had raced to a win in the first qualifying heat race and redrew the pole spot for the twenty five lap main event.Eric Eicholtz was the first to mount a challenge on Coffman in the early stages of the race until the first caution was shown for Jerry Weaver who had made contact with the wall off of turn two.The next seven laps Ryan Eddleblute was in the chase behind the leader and Eicholtz.Behind those three front place cars,Jason Flory was going to the high side from starting eighth and had joined into a three way side by side contest with Tony Cline and Jay McDougal.Mike Lonas, from ninth, and Gentry from starting fourteenth became players as they along with Eddleblute wer racing for a couple of laps three wide.Eicholt's nigh came to an end as he rolled to a stop off of turn two.Flory could not track down Coffman as he had to settle for a second place finish with Lonas recording a third,Gentry fourth and McDougal rounding out the top five.Coffman was coming off a huge win from two weeks ago as he had won the 40 lap first leg of the Triple Crown Series in his Federated Auto Parts,Coffman Corvette sponsored entry.

In the Pepsi Winged Sprint action,Bill Underwood drove to his first win in a few years as he found the fast way around the 3/8 mile speedplant.

The only thing that slowed the Lodi driver was a lap 4 incident by Jeremy Aumend as he did a slow rollover in turn one, landed on his wheels, but could not continue. For the complete fifteen laps Cody Jacobs had chased Underwood, but could not reel the leader in.Top five finishers were Underwood,Jacobs,Nick Mulheim,Kurt Jefferies and Chad Levingston.

In the Hamlin Racing Engines sponsored Pure Stock feature the front row saw Justin Patterson and Hud Wharton with Dave Haven Jr and his dad Dave Haven Sr lined up in row two.Patterson blasted to the point as the green was dropped with Wharton pressuring the young gun with the two Havens going after the same position.Bob Daugherty started seventh and was shown in the top five by lap five.Frank Oriti from eighth spot had now got into a three way contest with Don Baney and Haven Jr as Haven Sr refused to be passed. With three laps remaining,Oriti moved to the rear bumper of Patterson and off of turn four was able to position his Mars Trucking ride on the inside of Patterson and made the pass coming off of turn two.Oriti finished the event as the winner for his second consecutive victory as Patterson hung tough for second with Daugherty picking up third,Haven Sr finishing fourth and Baney grabbing fifth.

Henry Britton drove from green to checker to get his first win of the 2008 racing season in the Hague Crystal Clear Water Mini Stock feature. He had earned a pole starting position and was neve really contested the entire event.Sean Rush who started eighth was able to protect his points lead as he was able to finish a strong second place. In the early stages of the race,Jordan James from his third place start, appeared that he was going to be a strong contender, however on lap five he was loosing power and was slipping backward.Josh Hershberger from sixth and Chase Alexander from tenth provided some great entertainment as Kyle Moore was working hard from all the way back in thirteenth. As the checkered flag hit the racetrack,Britton had a large advantage over Sean Rush,Hershberger,Alexander and Moore.

Doug Hensel appeared that he was going to get his fifth win of the year in the Eddleblute garage Novice Mini Stocks as he had started in the thirthteenth starting spot and by lap four had came to the front spot and stayed there until a flat tire put him in the pits on lap eight.Dustin Daugherty and Hensel raced side by side for a couple of laps with Brad Lawhorn and Trevor Quicksall and Tim Luke heating it up in the final laps.Tim Rush found something with only two laps to go as he came charging to the front to make it an almost photo finish with Daugherty getting the win followed by Rush,Quicksall,Luke and Lawhorn.

Royle Mast was caught up in a first lap collison with Warren Short but was able to continue and get a win in the Tom's Salvage Classic Cruisers.Points leader Charlie Dawson drove to a second place finish,Ken Yarosh was third,Bill Miller captured fourth and David Radcliff was fifth.

Keith Pavlich passed Todd Gallion on the final lap off of turn four to win the Mountain Dew Truck feature.Dale Mong battled to a third place finish with Kyle Lashley fourth.
