CROSSVILLE, Tenn. (June 6) - Crossville Raceway was the site for the Mountain Farm International $1,000.00 to win UMP Open Wheel Modified, presented by Budweiser of Cookeville and The Tennessee Governor's Safety Office race on Friday night. The event brought some very good cars to the track, all trying to visit Victory Lane and take home the 1st place money.

In Open Wheel qualifying it was Elkton, Ky's #15 Clayton Miller Setting fast time, with a lap of 13.927 to set on the pole for the first heat race. The second quick qualifier, and starting on the pole for the second heat race was Crossville's Michael Asberry, with a 13.972 lap. In the first heat race, Miller led flag-to-flag for the win, and to put himself on the pole for the feature. Rounding out the top three in the heat race was #7 Steve Mullinax and #36 Billy Palmer. In the second heat race, #44 Greg Hoskins powered into the lead at the start, and took the win to start on the outside pole in the feature. Asberry finished in second and #257 Skylar Marlar rounded out the top three.

The 30-lap feature did not begin like well for some of the cars starting up front. Asberry didn't make it our for the feature race. On the first attempted start, Miller was penalized and put back row for jumping the start. This put Mullinax on the front row with Hoskins. A caution came out before a lap was completed, as Mullinax came to a stop at the top of turn one, with a broken rear-end from contact with several cars. The restart would see the four wide action, as the drivers came out of turn two. Marlar would be the leader with Hoskins in second, and Palmer in third. Caution on lap 1 for a #25 Robert Potter spin, would settle everyone down in the stands from the exciting start to the feature. Miller's night would end however, as he pulled his ride into the pits with left front wheel damage. Several cautions slowed the race, as Marlar continued to set the pace. Palmer would get by Hoskins for second on lap 22, after putting pressure on him for several laps. Palmer however, didn't have enough laps to make it to the front, as Winfield TN's Marlar would take the big win. Hoskins would finish third, #181 Aaron Ogle was fourth, and #71 Tony Garber rounded out the top five. Finishing six through ten was #7L Thomas Lay, #56 Billy Jones, #1 Jesse Bales, #25 Robert Potter, and #29 Joey Cotterman.

Crossville's #4x Joe Cline set fast time in the Late Model Sportsman Class, with a lap of 13.571. At the start of the 25-lap feature it was #96 Sam Williams powering into the lead. #95 Brandon Williams shot through a gap and slide into second from his fourth starting spot. #25 Lynn Selby would attempt to get under Brandon for the first part of the race. The battle for second would keep the fans at the edge of their seat, as Selby would go under Williams, only to see Brandon's momentum carry him down the straightaways past Selby. Past the halfway point, Brandon put some distance between himself and Selby and chased down leader Sam. Chasing him down would be one thing, but getting by him would be different, as Crossville's Sam Williams would lead the final laps for his second win of the year. Brandon was second, Selby third, Cline was fourth, and #66 Tony Nickles rounded out the top five.

The Pro Street Class saw Crossville's #5 Jesse Lowe capture his second win of the year. Finishing in second was his father, #55 Duke Lowe, third was #5s Todd Spivey, #3m Mike Tabors was fourth, and #78 Barry Martin rounded out the top five. Duke and Jesse Lowe won the heat races.

Sparta's #8 Derrick Hutching held off a determined #38 Brad Hamilton for his 2nd win this year in the Mini Mod Class. Finishing in third was #12 Dustin Stephens, #3r Robert Edwards was fourth, and #4t Shalon Turner rounded out the top five. Hutchings won the heat race.

In Pure Mini action, it was all Cleveland's #18 Dustin Cansler, as the 14 yr old picked up his first feature win. #7k Kenneth Kizzar finished second and #j27 J.D. Rector was third. Some of the best racing of the night in any class was for positions 4-9, as the drivers swapped positions each lap. Finishing in fourth was #55 Carl Griffith and rounding out the top five was #46 Cody Rector. Kizzar and Cansler won the heat races.

The Cruiser Class saw the familiar faces of Crossville's #11 Hannah Proffitt/Sam Proffitt in Victory Lane, as the duo picked up their 5th win of the year. Second went to #54 Michael Cantrell/Jackie Powell, third was #31 Stephen Hargis/Dale Hargis, #02 Tim Roach/Jason Sharp was fourth, and #319 Josh Proffitt/Scott Brown finished fifth.
