Delph Communications CARPENTERSVILLE, Ill. (June 5) - The Dennis Erb Racing team invaded a trio of different dirt venues over the May 30-June 1 weekend to compete in the Northern Allstars Late Model Series (NALMS) Tri-Track Challenge. Dennis Erb's action-packed weekend was capped off with a big win on Sunday, June 1 at the tiny Macon Speedway in Macon, Illinois. Dennis was the fastest qualifier in his group and later won his heat race in preliminary action. During the course of the $6,000 to win A-Main, the Carpentersville, Illinois native led flag-to-flag to capture his third victory of the 2008 racing season over Kevin Weaver, Brian Shirley, Wes Steidinger, and Matt Taylor.
A night earlier on Saturday, May 31, the $6,000 to win show at the I-55 Raceway in Pevely, Missouri was won by Mother Nature. The tripleheader weekend kicked off on Friday evening, May 30 at the Paducah International Raceway in Paducah, Kentucky. Dennis timed in fifth fastest in his group during qualifying and later ran third in his competitive heat race. After starting from the ninth position in the $6,000 to win A-Main, Dennis rallied past five cars en route to a strong fourth place performance behind winner Ken Schrader, Jason Feger, and Wes Steidinger. "We ran well all weekend, so it was good to get back on track," stated Erb recently. "Hopefully, the strong run at Paducah last Friday and the win at Macon gives us some momentum heading into Eldora and then into the Summernationals. I have to thank all of my sponsors for all of their continued support and I am looking forward to what I hope is another great weekend at Eldora!"
Dennis and his #28 team have now turned their focus to the annual 'Dream 100' weekend at the famed Eldora Speedway in Rossburg, Ohio. The 14th Annual 'Dream 100' will kick off on Friday night, June 6 with a hot lap session and two rounds of qualifying. Saturday's dirt-slinging action will then be highlighted by heat races, consolation events, and the 100-lap main event. The winner of the 'Dream 100' on Saturday evening will receive a whopping $100,000. Dennis has transferred into the 'Dream 100' on one occasion back in 2002, where he wound up eleventh in the final rundown.
