BATESVILLE, Ark. (June 3) - Billy Moyer Jr. from Batesville, Arkansas competed in a pair of Mid America Racing Series (MARS) events behind the wheel of his #21jr Victory Circle M1 Chassis by Moyer Super Late Model over the weekend in the state of Mississippi.
Last weekend Jr. Motorsports traveled to Jackson Motor Speedway in Byram, Mississippi for the first time ever as he competed in a pair of M.A.R.S. events. On Friday night Billy started 6th in his heat race and advanced to a 4th place finish, which earned him a 13th starting position for the feature event. In the main event, Moyer Jr. would pick up a 12th place finish. On Saturday night, a $6,000 to win M.A.R.S. event was held and Billy once again started 6th in his heat race. He would record a 5th place finish, which sent him to the b-main where he started 3rd. He would battle for the final transfer spot throughout the b-main, and at the finish line he picked up the fourth and final transfer spot, which earned him a 20th starting position for the feature. A strong car in the feature, allowed him to drive to a 13th place finish.
"It was a pretty good weekend for us, other than the fact that we got stuck in the heat race with Dad (Billy Moyer) both nights," Moyer Jr. laughed on Monday. "It was nice to go to a track for the first time and be pretty competitive right out of the box."
This weekend, Moyer Jr. will return to familiar territory as he enters a pair of AMP Super Late Model Series events in the state of Arkansas. On Friday night, action gets underway at Beebe Speedway in Beebe, Arkansas with a $1,500 to win event. On Saturday night, the tour will head to Central Arkansas Speedway in Plumerville, Arkansas for another $1,500 to win event. For more information, please visit www.AMPSeries.com .
