MERCER, Penn. (June 3) - After three rain outs in the last five weeks and five for the season, Mercer Raceway Park is hoping for better weather now that the calendar has flipped to June. With summer right around the corner and school all but done for the year, Mercer Raceway Park will host its annual "Pack the Track" Fan Appreciation Night this Saturday, June 7 presented by Coca-Cola.
Admission prices have been slashed more than half as adult admission is just $5; a Family Pass, which will admit mom, dad, and as many kids 15 and under is just $12; students 6-15 are only $2; and all kids five and under are free!
"This is a great way to not only reward our loyal fans, but to attract new people to The Park," explained 10th year owner Vicki Emig. "With gas prices high we realize people a lot of people don't have a lot of disposable income thus why we have focused our promotions around affordability. This is a lot of entertainment for $5 and where can you take your entire family for $12 these days? Plus parking is free and we offer good food at reasonable prices."
Fans will see the Luxaire Heating & Cooling Sprint Cars, Tire Express Modifieds, McElwain Motors FASTRAK Late Models, Big Daddy's Speed Center Mod Lites, and the M&D Paving Mini Stocks in competition.
Also, during intermission fans will have the opportunity to come onto the speedway for "Meet Your Heroes" camera and autograph night to see the race car drivers and see their cars. This is presented by Duke Whiting for State Representative 17th District.
Pit gates open at 3:30 p.m. and grandstand gates open at 4:30. Warm ups begin at 6:15 and racing begins at 7.
As a reminder due to rain outs, the Free Crawford County Night will take place next Saturday, June 14 presented by the Oncology Wellness Institute of the Meadville Medical Center and Armstrong and the Free Venango County has been rescheduled to Saturday, July 12, which will be presented by Allegheny Toyota.
