Ben Shelton TRUMANN, Ark. (June 3) - After a weekend off from racing, Kyle Beard will return to action behind the wheel of his #86 GRT By Frye/Samuels Performance Racing Engine Super Late Model in a pair of Arkansas Motorsports Professionals (A.M.P.) Series' events.
Beard Motorsports was last in action two weeks ago, when they traveled to West Plains Motor Speedway in West Plains, Missouri for the 16th Annual O'Reilly Show Me 100. In time trials on Friday night, Kyle struggled and timed in 71st out of 77 entries. Via his qualification, he started 12th in his heat race against many of the nation's top drivers. He would muster an 8th place finish by the time that the checkered flag fell in the 20 lap heat race. On Saturday night, Kyle started 10th in his b-main and was battling in the top 5 by the race's midpoint. However, luck would not be on Beard's side as on a midrace restart, a car in front of him got out of shape and ran Kyle up the track causing him to lose about 10 spots. He ultimately finished 10th in his b-main, which prevented him from transferring to the main event.
This weekend, Kyle will enter a pair of AMP Late Model Series events in the state of Arkansas. On Friday night, Beard will return to the scene of his dramatic feature win a few weeks ago as the tour invades Beebe Speedway in Beebe, Arkansas for a $1,500 to win event. On Saturday night, the action moves to Central Arkansas Speedway in Plumerville, Arkansas for another $1,500 to win event. For more information, please visit www.AMPSeries.com .
