LEBANON, Mo. (May 30) - Despite threating skies over 109 race teams checked into the pits Friday Night at the LebanonMidwaySpeedway as the Show-Me Racin Series LateModels brought 29 high powered LateModels to there first visit of the season.

The LateModel feature saw Roger Wilson take control on the opening lap as the LateModel were providing side by side racing action.Jeremy Kelley was a driver on the move early only to spin in turn 1 ending his chance to grab the lead.Veteran Conner Ward of Witchita,Kansas found the low groove to his liking as Shane Essary took to the high side and this duo provided side by side action as defending Series Champion Leslie Essary,Ken Essary and Chuck Comer were battling hard and fast.

Coming through lapped traffic,Shane Essary moved to the bottom of the track to following Ward and then with 2 laps remaining went back upstairs as the leaders kept up the fast pace and close racing.

Coming for the ckeckered flag,Shane Essary carried the speed on the top groove and just nipped Ward at the line for his first Show-Me Racin Series win of the season as Ward,a fast moving Leslie Essary,Ken Essary and Chuck Comer completed the top 5 as feature transfer driver Burl Woods was coming fast at the end to finish 6th.

In Other action ,the USRA Modifieds found 2006 Champion Tony Jackson Jr and Danny Atkinson brought the field down to the green with Jackson grabbing the early lead, but Rex Merritt took over the lead as the pack headed into turn 1 as Merrittt stayed glued to the bottom as Jackson went to the top groove as the duo ran side by side with Merritt holding control as former champion and current point leader Jamie Ragland started his march to the front.

Merritt and Jackson gave each other plenty of racing room as Ragland gathered it up quickly and the lead trio brought the crowd to there feet as last weeks winner Eric Hudson was marching forward from his 11th starting spot.

Heading for the white flag,Jackson made the wide sweeping pass while leader Merritt stayed glued to the bottom as the lead duo came dead even out of turn 4 while Jackson carried the speed out of the corner to nip Merritt at the line by a front bumper with Merritt,Ragland,Hudson and early contender Steve Muilenburg following.

The SuperStock feature provided plenty of close racing as veteran JC Newell grabbed the early lead with Danny Newell close behind. This battle lasted all night long as point leader Ben Newell and hard charging Larry Prewett were fighting for position.JC and Danny Newell swapped the top spot several times before Ben used an outside pass on lap 13 to gather his 3rd win of the season with Dan Newell,Prewett, last weeks winner Dwight Neihoff and JC Newell following.

The B-Mod feature provided plent of close racing also as Mickey Burrell grabbed the opening lead with a tight pack including Steve Muilenburg,Derrick Peterson,Kenny Dickinson and Jason Otto battling along with Trent Harrison.Burrell and Muilenburg stagged a classic battle until lap 9 when Muilenburg made the low groove pass stick while a 6 car battle was for second place involvingBurrell,Dickinson,Shawn Nations, last weeks winner Josh Woody,Json Otto and Colt Cheevers were swapping sopts as Otto made a strong move late in the race to grab second place honors followed by Burrell,Dickinson and Nations.

The FactoryStock feature would find yet another new feature winner in 5 races this season as Sundance Keeper took the lead from early pacesetter Justin Stoufer on lap 7 and withstood a late race surge from Mark Bourey in capturing the win with Ben Solberg,Stoufer and last weeks winner Kris Jackson completing the top 5 as the racing was tight within the entire pack.
The Bomber feature would see point leader Brandon Knudtson grab the early lead and hold off a late race challange from defending champion Mike Piercy in recording his second win of the season as Shawn Winfrey,Brandon Waters and Wayne Coffman completed the top 5 in a strong 20 car field.

Action continues next Friday night with regula points racing in the USRA modifieds,FactoryStocks,B-Mods,Bombers,SuperStocks and 305 WingedSprints with racing at 8PM Sharp.
