WILLIAMS CRUISES TO FOURTH LATE MODEL WIN OF THE SEASON AT CROSSVILLE RACEWAY

CROSSVILLE, Tenn. (May 30) - It was full throttle action on Friday night at Crossville Raceway. In the Late Model Class it was Monterey's #3r Robert Edwards setting fast time with a lap of 13.630. #95 Brandon Williams powered to the lead at the start, with #96 Sam Williams close behind. Brandon would pull to a half of a straightaway lead on Sam for most of the race. Edwards would experience brake problems and retire from the race early. Williams would cruise to his 4th win of the season, with Sam in second. #10m Jason McMahan was third, #00 Ruben Mayfield fourth, and #8 Trent Mullinax rounded out the top five.

In UMP Open Wheel Modified action, it was Knoxville's #36 Billy Palmer setting the fast time with a 13.831 lap. Palmer jumped into the lead at the start with #7 Steve Mullinax in hot pursuit. The car moving up however, was #76 Michael Asberry. Asberry quickly joined the leaders, and got around Mullinax for 2nd around the halfway point. Asberry pressured Palmer for the remaining laps, but couldn't make the pass, as Palmer picked up his second win of the year. #56 Billy Jones finished third, #215 Ricky Tinch was fourth, and Mullinax would finish fifth.

The Pro Street Class saw #5 Jesse Lowe hold off a determined #20x Mike Selby for his 2nd win of the year. #3m Mike Tabors finished third, #78 Barry Martin was fourth, and #20 Mike McGuire rounded out the top five. Heat race winners were Lowe and Selby.

Kingston's #38 Brad Hamilton picked up his 3rd feature win of the year in the Mini Mod Class. Derrick Hutchings was second, and #9 Brandon Kilburn finished third.

In the ever-exciting Pure Mini Class, it was Crossville's #j27 J.D. Rector holding off young #18 Dustin Cansler for his 3rd win of the early season. #55 Carl Griffith was third, #46 Cody Rector fourth, and #83 Raymond Manning rounded out the top five. #1 Chad Pugh and J.D. Rector won the heat races.

Sparta's #54 Michael Cantrell/Jackie Powell took the win in the Cruiser Class. #11 Hannah Proffitt/Sam Proffitt was second and #02 Tim Roach/Jason Sharp finished in third.

Crossville will be back in action again on Friday, June 6th with The Mountain Farm International $1,000.00 to win UMP Open Wheel Modified Special, brought to you by Budweiser of Cookeville and The Tennessee Governor's Safety Office. A candy toss for the kids will take place for the kids at intermission. In addition to the Open Wheel Modifieds, fans can enjoy the tracks regulars in the Late Model Sportsman, Pro Street, Mod Mini, Pure Mini and Cruiser Car classes. Crossville Raceway is a full service family oriented race track with a playground area for the kids adjacent to the Pits and the Grandstand area. Spacious seating areas, hot food from 2 concession stands, and Souvenir Shop with goodies for the kids as well as photos from track photographer Joe Dunn with same night photos available.
