SCHUEFFNER PICKS UP LATE MODEL MAIN EVENT WIN AT THE PLYMOUTH DIRT TRACK

PLYMOUTH, Wisc. (May 24) - Plymouth Dirt Track got its second full night of racing underway this past Saturday night at the Sheboygan County Fairgrounds.

In Grand National racing, Matt Yancey of Sheboygan Falls picked up the win in the first of four heat races over Brad Lubach of Elkart Lake. Tyler Nault of Port Washington won the second heat over Jamie Theobald of Sheboygan. In the third heat, Tim Warner (Malone) put his car to the point for the win over Greg Kempf of Kiel. Brad Dahmer  (Sheboygan Falls) took the checkers in the fourth and final heat over Random Lakes Jeremy Sauter.

In B-main action,  Loren Lubach (Sheboygan) paced the field for the first of four transfers into the feature. Dave Holm (Kewaskum) was second, Abe Meinnert (Glenbulah) was third, and Dennis Bertzyk (Chilton) was fourth.

Brad Lubach, filling in for Jestin Danes, picked up the feature win for the Grand National divison. Chad Kistner (New Holstein) was second, Jeremy Sauter was third, Luke Scholten (Oostburg) was fourth, and Gary Glander rounded out the top five for the feature.

Late Models had three heats on the night. Randy Markwardt of Sheboygan paced the field in the first heat race over Dan Sorce of Franklin. Russ Scheffler of Waukesha picked up his third PDT checked flag this
season with a win in the second heat. Kyle Odekirk of Waldo won the third and final heat.

Zach Emmons (Franklin) won the B-main feature and a transfer into the A-main feature. Brain Goetsch  (Sheboygan) was second, Ray Reiss (Kiel) was third, and Eric Michaels (Cleveland) was fourth.

Sophomore driver Craig Schueffner (Sheboygan Falls) picked up the feature win over Kyle Odekirk, Randy Markwardt, Dan Sorce, and Russ Scheffler, who finished second, third, fourth, and fifth respectively

In the Sprint car division, Lance Fassbender (Burnett) rocketed to the front for the win in the first heat race.  Danny Schlafer (Sussex) did the same in the second heat race. Plymouth's Travis Luedke beat Oostburg's Brian Portschy to the line in the third heat race, and Jason Johnson (Allenton) kept Brian Kristan (Zion, IL) at bay in the fourth heat race. In the fifth and final heat race, Troy Wondra (Lomira) beat Al Schlafer (Sussex) for the checkers.

Mark Wernes Jr (Mukwanago) picked up the win in the B-main over Dave Enders (Kiel) and Ben Schmidt (Plymouth). All three drivers getting bids to the A-main.

In the second B-main, Adam Miller (Plymouth) beat Tony Wondra (Cambellsport) and J.B. Walter (Plymouth) .

Troy Wondra picked up where he left off from his heat race and rocket through the A-main for the sprint cars.  He went on to win the feature over Travis Luedke. Brian Kristan finished third, Kurt Davis (Milwaukee) was fourth, and Lance Fassbender was fifth.

Outlaw Compacts had two heat races and an A-main feature. Jay Riemer (Sheboygan Falls) won the first heat over Ken Odekirk and Steven Weber (Plymouth).  Jason Juech (West Bend) picked up the second heat win
over Dennis Born of Plymouth.

In the feature, Tim Simon of Fond du Lac beat Dennis Born and Jason Juech to the line.

Plymouth Dirt Track races ever Saturday Night at the Sheboygan County Fairgrounds. Gates open at 4:30 p.m. Racing starts immediately following opening ceremonies at 6:00p.m. Tickets are $10 for adults, $5 for students aged 12-15, and accompanied children 11 and under are
free.
