QUINCY, Ill. (May 22) - The racing calendar for the Memorial Day Weekend holds two great nights of Stock Car and Open Wheel racing events. Sunday, May 25 has the Bank of Quincy Night at the Races with the ever popular Kids Candy as well as points racing in all four Quincy Raceways divisions, the Budweiser IMCA Late Models, Miller Lite Modifieds, Triple R Performance Engines IMCA Stock Cars and the Tim's Machine Shop Hobby Stocks. The pit gates open at 4 with spectator gates at 5, hot laps at 5:45 and racing at 6:30pm for the Sunday night race event.

Quincy Raceways personnel and construction workers have been busy this week as several hunderd tons on fresh clean clay have been added to the track in an effort to help with the track conditions experienced this season. The track surface looks great as of Thursday evening as the track has been graded smooth and packed tight to provide a great racing surface for this weekends events as well as the rest of the racing season.

Memorial Day Monday brings the largest ever Purse, over $26,000 will be up for grabs for the evenings participants as the O'Reilly Midwest All-Star Sprints roll into town for a $2000 to win, $200 to start main event. The All-Stars have confirmed the intentions of at least 28 of the fire breathing, dirt slinging 410 cubic inch winged warriors to compete with more cars expected to sign in to compete on Memorial Day Monday Night.

The other part of the Memorial Day Monday events has the open wheeled Modifieds competing for the largest purse ever offered for the division at Quincy Raceways, over $13,500 will be on the line. A large amount of area drivers with a few travelers expected to compete in a no holds barred evening of racing action. Rules, payoff and information for the modified event are available at www.quincyraceways.com. One of the major advantages of this event is the tire rules which show that all but the Hoosier D40 tire is legal to use.

If that is not enough, Quincy Raceways is offering a special ticket deal for Memorial Day Monday to those spectators holding a ticket stub for the May, 25 or the May 18 race nights. Spectators purchasing tickets with those ticket stub in hand will receive a $2 per ticket discount for Adult, Senior or Teen tickets. On top of that, all kids 10 and under will get in free.
