BATESVILLE, Ark. (May 21) - Following a rare weekend off from Dirt Late Model competition, the Wendell Wallace Autosports team will head north to the Show-Me State of Missouri for the Memorial Day holiday weekend. The 16th Annual 'O'Reilly Show-Me 100' is on tap at the West Plains Motor Speedway in West Plains, Missouri from May 22-24.
An open practice session will be held at the 3/8-mile, red-clay speedplant on Thursday night, May 22, while qualifying and six heat races will highlight the action on Friday evening, May 23. The Race of Champions, Manufacturer's Dash, and three consolation events will then precede the annual 'Show-Me 100' on Saturday. The 100-lap A-Main will pay a whopping $42,000 to the winner and $4,200 just to start the race. Wendell Wallace is a three-time winner and the two-time defending champion of the prestigious event, as he took the checkers in 2002, 2006, and 2007! "The Show-Me 100 is not only one of the premier events in this area, but it is also one of the biggest Dirt Late Model races in the country," stated Wallace earlier in the week. "We always put a lot of time and preparation into the Show-Me 100 and this year has been no different. We just finished a new GRT car for the race and plan to hot lap it on Thursday night, along with another car. Hopefully, both cars will be strong this weekend and we can make a serious bid for our fourth Show-Me 100 title!"
