Delph Communications CAVE CITY, Ark. (May 21) - Jeff Taylor was a busy man over the May 16-17 weekend, as he entered events at both the Batesville Motor Speedway in Locust Grove, Arkansas and the Milan Speedway in Milan, Tennessee. On Friday night, May 16 at Batesville, Jeff won his Open Wheel Modified heat race and later drew a number ten prior to the start of the $600 to win feature event. After starting from the outside of the fifth row, Jeff improved his position by six spots en route to a fourth place performance.
The dirt-slinging action then turned to Milan on Saturday, May 17 and Jeff competed in both the Dirt Late Model and the Open Wheel Modified divisions. The Southern Regional Racing Series (SRRS) sanctioned a $5,000 to win show for the Late Models and Jeff was third quickest in his group during qualifying. After winning his B-Main, the Cave City, Arkansas native rolled off from the outside of the sixth row for the 50-lap A-Main. With the track turning one groove for the main event, Jeff pulled his #5 entry off the track early in the race and settled for a twenty-first place effort. In the Open Wheel Modified division, "Animal" started eighteenth in the feature and wound up eleventh in the final rundown.
