BATESVILLE, Ark. (May 19) - Billy Moyer Jr. from Batesville, Arkansas returned to action behind the wheel of his #21jr Victory Circle M1 Chassis by Moyer Super Late Model on Saturday night at Arkansas Motor Speedway and picked up his best finish of the 2008 season.
Jr. Motorsports was slated to compete in a pair of events over the weekend, but Mother Nature nixed Friday's program at 67 Speedway in Texarkana, Arkansas. On Saturday, the team headed to Arkansas Motor Speedway in Nashville, Arkansas for a $2,000 to win O'Reilly MSRA Super Late Model event. Billy finished 2nd in his heat race, and started 6th in the feature. Moyer Jr. had a great car for the feature event, and by lap 20 he was up to the 3rd position. Over the remainder of the event, he applied pressure for the second spot, but could not make the pass. At the checkered flag Billy was credited with a third place finish.
"Saturday night was a great night for our team. I really feel like we are getting a handle on this new car, and I hope to carry the momentum into this weekend's event," commented Moyer Jr.
This weekend Jr. Motorsports will invade West Plains Motor Speedway in West Plains, Missouri for the 16th Annual O'Reilly Show Me 100. The event pays $42,000 to win and $4,200 to start. Action gets underway on Thursday night with an open practice from 7pm to 9:30pm. On Friday night, time trials will be held as well as six 20 lap heat races.
