Chinn Motorsports BRADFORD, Ohio (May 19) - Wayne Chinn and Chinn Motorsports hit the Midwest over the weekend for a pair of Lucas Oil Late Model Series events. On Friday night the series invaded Farley Speedway in Farley, Iowa for the first $10,000 to win event of the weekend. Wayne timed in third quick overall, just behind veteran Billy Moyer and Brian Birkhofer, in his Dargie powered Rayburn Race Car. A broken gear during the heat race would send him to the consolation event for a second chance at making the 50 lap feature event. After twelve laps of hard racing "The Sniper" fell just shy of making the show as he finished fourth, one position out of transferring to the main.
Saturday night LaSalle Speedway, located in La Salle, Illinois, would host the second $10,000 to win Lucas Oil series event. A late pill draw would hinder Chinn's qualifying efforts, as a slowing pace put him in the eighth starting position for his heat race. After avoiding a close accident on the fourth circuit Chinn maneuvered his Erwin Chrysler Dodge Jeep / Sugar Creek Packing / 1 Shot Graphics / AWP of Ohio / Dargie Powered / Rayburn Race Car from seventh to fourth position, which allowed him to transfer into the 50 lap feature event.
Chinn stayed out of trouble through out the feature event and crossed the finish line in the thirteenth position. The finish would move "The Sniper" up to ninth in the Lucas Oil Late Model Series overall standings and closer to Terry Casey in the Quarter Master Rookie of the Year honors.
