Delph Communications CAVE CITY, Ark. (May 15) - Cave City, Arkansas native Jeff Taylor went into the record books on Friday night, May 9, as he became the first driver in O'Reilly MSRA Series competition to reach victory lane at the Greenville Speedway in Greenville, Mississippi! Jeff accumulated the most passing points during heat race action on Friday, which earned him the coveted pole position for the $2,000 to win A-Main. The driver known as the "Animal" was one of several Dirt Late Model pilots that held the point during the early portion of the feature event. Jeff then took advantage of Ray Moore's misfortunate late in the race to grab the lead for good. As the checkered flag fell over the stout field, Jeff was awarded the $2,000 victory over Dusty Johnston, Joey Mack, Ray Moore, and Jeff Chandler.
Another $2,000 to win MSRA show was held on Saturday evening, May 10 at Greenville. Jeff came into the event with high hopes of sweeping the weekend festivities, but suffered problems early in the main event. At the pay window following the racing activity, Jeff was credited with a disappointing nineteenth place performance. "It was a great weekend for our Taylor Motorsports team at Greenville," quoted Jeff Taylor today via telephone. "I was able to get the win on Friday night and I think we would have been right there in the hunt for the victory on Saturday as well. Unfortunately, we had a battery issue that caused us to retire from the feature while we were running in the third spot. The modified shows at Greenville were also won by guys in our cars, so it was a great team weekend!"
Jeff plans to enter a pair of events this upcoming weekend. He will travel to the nearby Batesville Motor Speedway in Locust Grove, Arkansas on Friday night, May 16 to compete in a regular Open Wheel Modified show. The Cave City, Arkansas driver will then load up his #5 GRT Dirt Late Model on Saturday. The Milan Speedway in Milan, Tennessee will play host to a $5,000 to win Southern Regional Racing Series (SRRS) event at Milan on Saturday.
