CHATSWORTH, Ga. (May 15) - The North Georgia Speedway in Dalton/Chatsworth, GA will once be the place to race, Friday night, May 16th as again many of the top regional Dirt Super Late Model raceteams invade the 1/3-mile clay-banked dirt track. This season's 'MAYHEM 40' race, will tout a $2,000 to-Win, 'A' Main-Feature with local racing action on the undercard. In 2007 the CHATTANOOGA FLASH Ronnie Johnson rallied from 10th place to take the win, after passing fast qualifier Anthony White and mid-race leader Gary McPherson on lap 32.

A top field of regional racers will be expected, as the O'Reilly Southern All-Stars are scheduled for the next night (Saturday, May 17th) at promoter Monty Morrow's other venue, the Cleveland (TN) Speedway, with the $5,000. to-Win: 31st Annual 'Coca-Cola Tennessee Memorial' race. So far in 2008, besides mother-nature winning a bunch of dates, Randy 'THE DREAM' Weaver of Crossville, TN has been the seasons dominate force. Weaver has won two feature races in just three weeks, taking the $3,000. prize in the 'BIG FRIDAY 40' race back in April and most recent a feature to kick-off this month.

Others that could be expected to possibly enter Friday's event include; 2007 TURKEY RUMBLE champ, Dale McDowell of Chickamagua, GA, 2007 OCTOBER SPECIAL winner Tommy Kerr of Maryville, TN, 2007 O'SAS N. GA race winner Skip Arp of Georgetown, TN and former, back to back O'SAS champ Chris Madden of Gray Court, SC. As for the neighbors of the Club Nasty Fast, membership has it's rewards with racers like David Payne of Murphy, NC, Kayne & Brian Hickman of Soddy Daisy, TN, Joe Armes of Petross, TN, Ray Cook of Brasstown, NC, Shane Tankersley of Morganton, GA and Robert Gant of Flat Rock, AL nearby.

Local SLM racers that will probably be defending the home turf for this special event, include; multi & reigning Track Champion Gary McPherson of Dalton, GA, 2008 OPENING NIGHT winner Randy Burrows of Chattanooga, TN, Kevin Gibson of Ringgold, GA, Todd Morrow of Cleveland, TN, Jake Knowles of Tyrone, GA, current O'SAS Rookie of the Year continder Derek Ellis, Lee Sutton of Taylorsville, GA, and Aaron Ridley of Chatsworth, GA, who recently came close to a new track record, that is currently held by former racer Ricky Arms of Moss, TN. Many other (unlisted) top SLM racers will be in attendance.

Racefans will witness two laps of single car qualifying for the SLM's with a $200 Fast Time bonus sponsored by HELIG BROWN CONSTRUCTION, and a undetermined amount of 'B'Main/Last Chance Heats, to determine the 24 car starting field. If a racer wins both SLM races at North Georgia and then the O'SAS event at Cleveland, CAR SMART Auto Sales (of Cleveland, TN) will pay-out a $1,000. bonus, to the victor. Gates open around 4PM EST with racing beginning with Hot Lap Practice shortly after the 7PM drivers meeting.

The North Georgia Speedway is located on Highway 225 in Chatsworth, GA. If coming South on I-75, go to exit 333 then go east (left over the interstate overpass) approximately 11 miles to Highway 225, then go South (turn right) on Hwy. 225 for approximately 6 miles and the track is located on the right.
