Steve Hixson CHATSWORTH, Ga. (May 15) - The North Georgia Speedway in Dalton/Chatsworth, GA will once be the place to race, Friday night, May 16th as again many of the top regional Dirt Super Late Model raceteams invade the 1/3-mile clay-banked dirt track. This season's 'MAYHEM 40' race, will tout a $2,000 to-Win, 'A' Main-Feature with local racing action on the undercard. GA race winner Skip Arp of Georgetown, TN and former, back to back O'SAS champ Chris Madden of Gray Court, SC. Local SLM racers that will probably be defending the home turf for this special event, include; multi & reigning Track Champion Gary McPherson of Dalton, GA, 2008 OPENING NIGHT winner Randy Burrows of Chattanooga, TN, Kevin Gibson of Ringgold, GA, Todd Morrow of Cleveland, TN, Jake Knowles of Tyrone, GA, current O'SAS Rookie of the Year continder Derek Ellis, Lee Sutton of Taylorsville, GA, and Aaron Ridley of Chatsworth, GA, who recently came close to a new track record, that is currently held by former racer Ricky Arms of Moss, TN. Racefans will witness two laps of single car qualifying for the SLM's with a $200 Fast Time bonus sponsored by HELIG BROWN CONSTRUCTION, and a undetermined amount of 'B'Main/Last Chance Heats, to determine the 24 car starting field. If a racer wins both SLM races at North Georgia and then the O'SAS event at Cleveland, CAR SMART Auto Sales (of Cleveland, TN) will pay-out a $1,000. bonus, to the victor. Gates open around 4PM EST with racing beginning with Hot Lap Practice shortly after the 7PM drivers meeting.
