BATESVILLE, Ark (May 8) - Wendell Wallace and the #88 GRT House Car team had a very successful weekend in the Show-Me State of Missouri to kick off their busy month of May! On Saturday night, May 3, the I-44 Speedway in Lebanon, Missouri played host to a $10,000 to win World of Outlaws Late Model Series event. Wendell timed in seventh quickest in WOOLMS qualifying and later ran third in his heat race. After starting the 40-lap feature event from the eleventh position, the driver known as the "Batesville Bullet" was able to pass seven cars en route to a solid fourth place performance behind winner Shannon Babb, Rick Eckert, and Billy Moyer.

The action quickly turned to the Monett Speedway in Monett, Missouri on Sunday evening, May 4 for another World of Outlaws Late Model Series show. Wendell was seventeenth fastest in time trials prior to running second in his competitive heat race. After drawing a number four before the start of the $7,000 to win A-Main, the Batesville, Arkansas native rolled off from the outside of the second row for the main event. At the conclusion of 40 green flag racing laps around Monett, Wendell found himself credited with an impressive runner-up performance to winner Brian Birkhofer. "I was real pleased with how our weekend went at Lebanon and Monett," stated Wallace yesterday. "The car performed really well at both venues and we were able to run up front against the best in the business. It was a good confidence builder to see how your program lines up against that kind of competition heading into some of the bigger races in the next month such as the Diamond Nationals, Show-Me 100, and Dream 100."

The Wendell Wallace Autosports team will look for additional success on May 9-10 in Missouri. The 2nd Annual 'SuperClean Diamond Nationals' will take place this upcoming weekend at the pristine Lucas Oil Speedway in Wheatland, Missouri. The Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series and the O'Reilly MLRA Series will co-sanction the mega-event, which boasts a $40,000 top prize.

Qualifying will kick things off on Friday night, May 9 at the state-of-the-art speedplant. A complete lineup of heat races, consolation events, and the 100-lap 'SuperClean Diamond Nationals' will then headline the program on Saturday, May 10. The cameras of the SPEED Channel will be on hand to tape all of the exciting action for broadcast later in the year.
