SOLON SPRINGS, Wisc. (May 7) - The Brady Smith Racing team picked up their first win of the young 2008 racing season on Saturday night, May 3 at the Kentucky Lake Motor Speedway in Calvert City, Kentucky! Brady Smith was strong in qualifying and later won his heat race to earn a starting spot up front in the $10,000 to win '99 Extravaganza' main event. The Solon Springs, Wisconsin native then drove an excellent race around the 3/8-mile, high-banked speedplant and overtook race leader Darren Miller following a lap twenty restart. Brady then held the point over the final thirty laps to record the $10,000 triumph over Billy Drake, Darren Miller, Steve Casebolt, and Earl Pearson, Jr. You can view complete results from the '99' online at www.kentuckylakemotorspeedway.net.

On Sunday, May 4, the exciting, dirt-slinging action turned west to the Monett Speedway in Monett, Missouri. The World of Outlaws Late Model Series sanctioned a $7,000 to win event in the Show-Me State on Sunday evening. Brady timed in eighth quickest in WOOLMS qualifying and once again won his competitive heat race. After drawing a number eight prior to the 40-lap feature event, Brady held his ground throughout the A-Main en route to a strong ninth place performance. "What a great weekend for our AMSOIL #2 team," quoted Smith earlier in the week via telephone. "Our Bloomquist car ran flawlessly on Saturday night at Kentucky Lake and it was great to win against that kind of competition. The track was in awesome shape and it feels good to get that first victory under our belt. We would have liked to have run further towards the front on Sunday at Monett, but we redrew an eight and the track was really hard to pass on during the feature. But overall, I am very pleased with the one feature victory and the two heat race wins and hopefully we can put together another strong weekend during the Diamond Nationals at Wheatland!"

The 2nd Annual 'SuperClean Diamond Nationals' will take place this upcoming weekend at the pristine Lucas Oil Speedway in Wheatland, Missouri. The LOLMDS and the O'Reilly MLRA Series will co-sanction the mega-event, which boasts a $40,000 top prize. An open practice night will take place on Thursday night, May 8 prior to qualifying on Friday evening, May 9. A complete lineup of heat races, consolation events, and the 100-lap 'SuperClean Diamond Nationals' will then headline the program on Saturday, May 10. The cameras of the SPEED Channel will be on hand to tape the exciting action for broadcast later in the year.
