GRAYSON, Ky. (May 7) - The Josh McGuire Racing team recorded their first victory of the young 2008 racing season on Saturday night, May 3 at the Richmond Raceway in Richmond, Kentucky! A night removed from being rained out at the Skyline (OH) Speedway, Josh McGuire and his #41 Dirt Late Model team invaded Richmond on Saturday for an O'Reilly Battle of the Bluegrass Dirtcar Series show.
Josh qualified well and later won his heat race to advance to the $3,000 to win feature event. The Grayson, Kentucky driver ran second in the opening laps of the A-Main before taking the point on lap five. Josh then held the lead throughout the remainder of the 40-lap affair to capture the $3,000 payday ahead of Mike Jewell, Eddie Carrier, Jr., Victor Lee, and Michael Chilton. "Everything went our way for once this year," commented McGuire following his victory in the caution-free race. "We have had our problems finishing races the entire year, but Richmond was a great time to finally finish one. Hopefully, that monkey is off our back and there are many more wins for us this season!"
Josh McGuire and his #41 Dirt Late Model team have a pair of events on their upcoming weekend schedule. They will travel to the Rocky Top Raceway in Coal Grove, Ohio on Friday night, May 9 for "GCP Engines Night," which will pay $2,000 to the winner. On Saturday, May 10, the action will turn to the 201 Speedway in Sitka, Kentucky. The Independent Racing Series (IRS) will sanction a $5,000 to win show on Saturday at 201.
