BARDSTOWN, Ky. (May 5) - After being closed last weekend for the Kentucky Derby, racing action returns to Bluegrass Speedway this Saturday evening May 10, as the 5th Annual Jerry Rucker Memorial event will be contested at the David and Anita Ferrell promoted ½ mile clay oval located just minutes from beautiful and historic Bardstown, KY.

The racing program on Saturday May 10 will feature the 44 Auto Mart Super Late Models as the main event of the evening, with their 30 lap feature contest paying $2,000 to the winner. Also in competition on the May 10 racing program will be the Kentucky Cooperage Modifieds, WBRT 1320-AM Sportsman, and Street Stocks. The Super Late Model and Street Stock divisions will time trial at this event, while the Modified and Sportsman divisions will pill draw for heat race starting assignments.

Activities for the racing event on May 10 will see the return of regular start times. The pit area will open at 4:00 p.m., while the grandstand area will be open at 5:00 p.m. The driver's meeting will take place at 6:00 p.m., with hot laps set to go at 6:30 p.m., time trials for the Super Late Models and Sportsman will go at 7:00 p.m., with racing set to take the green flag at or before 8:00 p.m. Ticket prices will be $15 in the general admission area for adults, children ages 6 to 12 will be $8, children under age 6 will be free. Admission to the pit area will be $30 for a pit pass.

Bluegrass Speedway will once again be an associate of the Contingency Connection program for the 2008 race season, which allows those drivers who sign up, at no cost to the drivers, to be eligible for valuable product discounts and other prizes. For 2008, the Contingency Connection will award over $150,000 in prizes through their program across the country at the 60 oval tracks involved in this prestigious program.

Bluegrass Speedway last raced on April 26 and feature event winners for that evening included Mike Marlar of Winfield, TN in 44 Auto Mart Super Late Models, Benji Lee of St. Joe, KY in Kentucky Cooperage Modifieds, and Logan Whitis of Hustonville, KY in WBRT 1320-AM Sportsman.

Track championship points leaders heading into the May 10 racing program are Mike Marlar of Winfield, TN in 44 Auto Mart Super Late Models, Jason Wheatley of Loretto, KY in Kentucky Cooperage Modifieds, and Roger Cecil of Bardstown, KY in WBRT 1320-AM Sportsman.
