CHICKAMAUGA, Ga. (April 30) - Substituting for Joe Armes, who did not make the trip to the Crossville Raceway USA in Crossville, Tennessee on Friday night, April 25, Dale McDowell drove his #77 GRT entry to victory lane in the $3,000 to win Southern Regional Racing Series (SRRS) event. Dale timed in fastest in his group during SRRS qualifying and later started the A-Main from the outside of the front row. After the dust had settled, Dale found himself celebrating the convincing $3,000 victory over Randy Weaver, Billy Ogle, Jr., Mike Marlar, and Brett Wyatt. "It was good to win last Friday at Crossville, especially considering I didn't even plan on racing," quoted McDowell following the win. "Joe (Armes) called late and said he wasn't going to make the trip, so I got my drivers suit on and went to work. The car was really good and the key to the win was probably our starting spot. It was pretty hard to pass, so once I got the jump at the start of the race, it was just a matter of not making any mistakes."

Dale is scheduled to invade the Cleveland County Speedway in Lawndale, North Carolina this upcoming weekend for a pair of Dirt Late Model events. He will drive Kelly Hamrick's #97 Bloomquist racecar in the $5,000 to win Carolina Clash Late Model Series race on Friday night, May 2 and in the $10,000 to win 'Skyler Trull Memorial' on Saturday evening at Cleveland County. Dale piloted the Hamrick entry to a strong top five finish in the $50,000 to win 'Colossal 100' at the Dirt Track at the Lowe's Motor Speedway in Concord, North Carolina back on April 19.
