Jamie Nutzmann NEW RICHMOND, Wisc. (April 30) - Following the announcement to open up the tire rule at CLS until June 15, 2008, The Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company is offering a bonus to any driver that wins a race at Cedar Lake Speedway on Goodyear tires between May 1st and June 15th, 2008. The bonus is an extra $300 for late models, $200 for Modifieds, $100 for Super Stocks, $100 for Midwest Modifieds, and $50 for Street Stocks. To collect bonus the feature winner must have only Goodyears on their car.
"This is a big deal", stated Jamie Nutzmann of Cedar Lake Speedway. "Between season openers and the Legendary 100s, we have had 30 feature races over the past 2 years at Cedar Lake Speedway where both Goodyears and Hoosiers were allowed. Of those 30 events, 25 of them were won on Goodyear tires. Therefore, we expect most drivers to choose that brand. Now those drivers will get even more money for winning on a tire that costs less and lasts longer."
"Following yesterday's announcement of the highest point fund and weekly purse in the area, this is yet another example of how Cedar Lake's partnership with Goodyear helps our local drivers", stated Brad Both of CLS. "This is another $750 each week that may be paid out to the drivers that support us week in and week out. Getting paid more for using a tire that costs less and lasts longer - sounds awesome to me!"
