PULASKI, Penn. (April 29) - The FASTRAK Northeast Late Model Touring Series will try for the third time to complete Raceway 7's rescheduled fifth annual Fall Classic this Friday night, May 2. The event was started on September 7, 2007 before rain washed out the feature and the event was to be totally re-run the following week, but was again rained. An all-new program Friday night will open the 2008 campaign for the FASTRAK Northeast Late Model Touring Series.

"We're looking forward to kicking off our season Friday night," stated FASTRAK Northeast Co-Director Vicki Emig. "Raceway 7 was one of the tracks last year that took a chance on FASTRAK adding them to their weekly card. This will be their season opener as well and we're expecting a strong field of cars. Last year there were over 60 cars that competed with FASTRAK in the Northeast. Already there are approximately 90 cars that will be participating throughout the region in 2008."

The 25-lap feature Friday night will pay $1,200 to-win, $150 to-start. Drivers will draw pills to determine the heat race lineups and redraw for the first 12 starting spots of the feature. There is a $50 entry fee. The Goodyear G45 or G50 tires are mandatory. They will be available at the track for $128 each or by calling BWR Performance at 330-509-1999.

Last year, John Lacki and Dick Barton were Touring Series winners at Raceway 7, while Alan Dellinger of Hermitage, Pa. claimed the inaugural $5,000 championship plus a 2008 Bullitt Chassis valued at $3,395 for car owner Bob Williams. The 2008 FASTRAK Northeast Touring Series Champion will again receive a minimum of $5,000 and will pay down 10 positions.

The 2008 FASTRAK Northeast Late Model Touring Series schedule is as follows: May 2 Raceway 7, May 24 McKean County Raceway, May 26 Mercer Raceway Park, June 20 Dog Hollow Speedway, July 5 McKean County Raceway, July 10 Expo Speedway, July 25 Raceway 7, July 26 Bradford Speedway, August 24 Eriez Speedway, August 29 Dog Hollow Speedway, September 13 Mercer Raceway Park, September 26 McKean County Raceway.

The 2008 Grand Nationals Night 1 for the Northeast Region will be held on Saturday, October 4 at Mercer Raceway Park. Nights 2 and 3 will be held in the South in mid to late October to determine the $50,000 National Champion.

"We have a great schedule of Touring Series events," explained FASTRAK Northeast Co-Director Mike Leone. "All of our events this year are within a reasonable amount of travel time. If you were in the center of our region, all of the shows would be within two hours. We have a good crop of racers from various backgrounds. When you put them on the same tires and motor, it provides competitive racing and you just never know who will win. Last year, drivers like Bobby Powell and Tommy Snyder, Jr. surprised a lot of people with their success up against the likes of Alan Dellinger, Dick Barton, Todd Andrews, Rodney Phillips, and Greg Oakes. Already this year newcomers to the Late Model division, Frank Guidace and Brian Booher who were champions in the Modified and Stock Car classes, have been winners at Mercer in weekly events."

Feature payoff for Raceway 7: 1. $1,200 2. $650 3. $450 4. $350 5. $325 6. $300 7. $275 8. $260 9. $255 10. $250 11. $225 12. $210 13. $200 14. $175 15. $165 16. $160 17. $155 18-20. $150.

Gates open at 5 p.m. with racing at 7:30 p.m. Raceway 7 is located six miles south of Interstate 90, on Ohio Route 7, just south of Monroe Center (and Bushnell), Ohio. For more information check out www.raceway7.com, call 440-594-2222 on race day, or email info@raceway7.com
