Joiner Racing MILTON, Fla. (April 22) - Joseph Joiner and the Joiner Racing Team were back in action this weekend in a $5,000 to win Southern Challenge Series Crate Late Model event at Southern Raceway in Milton, Fla. The race was originally scheduled as a two day event, but threatening skies forced the whole show to be run on Saturday night.
The fourteen-year-old Late Model rookie piloted his #10 Advanced Companies TrakStar Late Model to a 16.865 second qualifying lap which earned him the fast time award and put him on the pole for the 50 lap feature. The outside line proved to hold the advantage on the start and Joseph was forced to file in to 2nd going in to the first turn. Joseph would battle among the top five the entire race, falling back to 5th, then climbing back to as high as 2nd before finishing the race with a solid 3rd place effort.
Joseph and the team are hoping to compete at the Talladega Short Track in Talladega, Ala. this weekend in the Sprint Cup Weekend Special. There will be a complete show for the Crate Late Models on both Friday and Saturday night. Last season, Joseph and the team made three trips to the track commonly known as "The Hornet's Nest" bringing home two top five finishes and one win in the Thundercar division. This will be Joseph's first time competing at TST in a Late Model. If the team is unable to make the trip to Talladega this week, Joseph will most likely be back in action at Southern on Saturday night.
As always, Joseph and the team would like to thank their sponsors Advanced Companies, SCI Scrap Metal, and Concept Graphics for their continued support. For more information on the Joiner Racing team and driver Joseph Joiner, please visit http://joinerracing.com.
