CASA GRANDE, Ariz. (April 21) - Already having found his way to Central Arizona Raceway's victory lane twice in 2008, Lonnie Parker, Jr. will be looking to make it three for three as the SWDRA Super Dirt Late Models return to the 3/8th mile oval Saturday, April 26th. Super Stocks also return to action after a four week absence along with the Sands Chevrolet Modlite competitors.

After seeing a dominating performance nearly derailed on the last lap of the April 5th SWDRA main event, Parker, Jr. will be looking to continue his dominating ways and put an early strangle-hold on the point standings in search of his fifth consecutive SWDRA Championship. Joey Moriarty, Mark Fowler and Mike Tahtinen have been within shouting distance of Parker, Jr. all season and will each be looking for their first SWDRA wins of the season.

Both Steven Ashcraft and Mike Tahtinen have a Super Stock main event to their credit in 2008, Ashcraft capturing the season opener on March 8th while Tahtinen grabbed the Super Stock Touring Series win on March 22nd. Eric Armenta, Mike and Larry Brigner, Brad Whitfield, and Bugi Lacy will provide stiff opposition in the highly competitive Super Stock division.

Tony Martin holds a slim 12 point lead over Bill McDowell in the Sands Chevrolet Modlite Association standing as Nick Escobedo, Art Garcia and John Priest round out the top five. Priest and McDowell each have a feature win at C.A.R. while Martin picked up his one win of the season on April 5th at Canyon Speedway Park.

Pit gates open at 4pm, grandstand gates at 5pm with the first green flag slatted for 7pm.

During 2008 Central Arizona Raceway will also host racing action from the Southwest Dirt Racing Association Late Models, BRA (Barnett) Dirt Modifieds Weekly & Touring Series, O'Reilly American Sprint Car Series (ASCS) Canyon Region Non-Wing Sprints, O'Reilly ASCS National Wing Sprint Car Series, and Super Stock Touring Series.

All SWDRA Dirt Late Model A-Mains and BRA Dirt Modified A-Mains will pay $1000 to win. Updated schedule and raceway information can be found on our website at www.centralazraceway.com
