BRASSTOWN, N.C. (April 15) - The Ray Cook Racing team reached victory lane for the second time in the young 2008 racing season on Saturday night, April 12 at the Mountain Raceway in Maryville, Tennessee! Ray Cook timed in fastest in his group during Southern Regional Racing Series (SRRS) qualifying, which earned him the outside front row starting spot for the $3,000 to win feature event. The driver known as the "Tarheel Tiger" took the lead at the drop of the green flag and paced the field for all fifty circuits to record the convincing victory over Bobby Giffin, Vic Hill, Tommy Kerr, and Mark Vineyard. You can view complete results from Ray's fourth career SRRS win online at www.southernregionalracingseries.com!

"I am very pleased to get another win, especially with the high car count that was present for the race at the Mountain," commented Cook via telephone this week. "The good Lord blesses us each and every day, but he really blessed us when we really needed it last Saturday night. The car was really good in the slick and that is very encouraging for this summer when all of the tracks will dry out and slicken-up. I have to thank my family, my crew, and all of our great sponsors for their continued support and hopefully there are more wins around the corner for us in 2008!"

Following the big victory at the Mountain, Ray and his #53 Dirt Late Model team are set to invade the Dirt Track at the Lowe's Motor Speedway in Concord, North Carolina this upcoming weekend. The state-of-the-art Lowe's facility will play host to the annual 'Colossal 100' on April 18-19 and a $50,000 top prize is up for grabs. Preliminary action will start at the Charlotte-area venue on Friday, April 18 and the weekend will be highlighted by a 100-lap main event on Saturday evening, April 19.
