Michael Despain JUNCTION CITY, Ky. (April 14) - After being weathered out last Friday evening, "Kentucky's Baddest Bullring", Ponderosa Speedway in Junction City, KY is set to return to action this Friday evening April 18 at the 3/8 mile clay oval located on the Boyle/Lincoln County border and promoted by Larry, Chad, and Sarah Yantz.
On the racing docket for Friday April 18 will be a full program of weekly racing series action highlighted by the Good Neighbor Pharmacy Super Late Models racing for $1,000 to win in their 25 lap main event. The Hardee's Modifieds will also be in action, racing 20 laps for $600 to win. Joining the Super Late Models and Modifieds will also be the Kentucky National Guard Pro Late Models, racing 20 laps for $500 to win and the SkyTower Power Race Engines Sportsman will compete as well, with their main event going 15 laps for $300 to win. All divisions will time trial and be eligible for dash, heat, and feature competition.
Activities for the Friday April 18 racing event will see the pit area open at 4:00 p.m., with the general admission area open at 5:00 p.m. The driver's meeting will take place at 7:00 p.m., with hot laps at 7:15 p.m., time trials at 7:45 p.m., and racing set for the green flag at or before 8:30 p.m. For April 11, general admission will be $12, children ages 6 to 12 will be $5, children under age 6 will be free, and a pit pass will be $25.
Ponderosa Speedway last raced on April 5 and feature event winners that evening included Mike Marlar of Winfield, TN in Good Neighbor Pharmacy Super Late Models, P.J. Feistritzer of Danville, KY in Kentucky National Guard Pro Late Models, Skylar Marlar of Winfield, TN in Hardee's Modifieds, and Bartley Grant of Berea, KY in SkyTower Power Race Engines Sportsman. Those four drivers also set atop the current track point standings for all four weekly divisions.
Ponderosa Speedway is located just off of Phillips Lane on the Boyle/Lincoln County border, outside of Junction City, KY, just minutes from Danville, KY.
