BRIGHT, Ind. (April 10) - Bright, Indiana driver Scott James is up to sixth in the latest version of the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series point standings following a rollercoaster tripleheader weekend in the Peachtree State of Georgia. Scott's weekend was highlighted by a $10,000 triumph at the Screven Motor Speedway in Sylvania, Georgia on Friday night, April 4. He qualified well in Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series time trials and later won his heat race in preliminary action. In the 50-lap feature event, Scott ran up front early and then took the lead on lap twenty-one from leader Tim Dohm. The driver known as "The Silver Shark" held the point for the remainder of the race to pick up his first series victory of '08 over Jimmy Owens, Tim Dohm, Randy Weaver, and Donnie Moran.

The first event of the tripleheader weekend took place a night earlier on April 3 at the Swainsboro Raceway in Swainsboro, Georgia. Scott was forced to take a series provisional to gain access into the $7,000 to win feature event, where he eventually wound up twenty-second in the final rundown. The trio of races were scheduled to wrap-up on Saturday, April 5 at the Golden Isles Speedway in Brunswick, Georgia, but Mother Nature pushed the $10,000 to win show back a day. When the action resumed at GIS on Sunday, Scott finished fourth in his heat race before running fifteenth in the 50-lap A-Main, which was taped by the cameras of the SPEED Channel. "It was a rollercoaster weekend for us, but we got the monkey off our back with that win at Screven," commented James earlier in the week. "Although we have had some bad luck here and there this season on the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series trail, we are still sixth in points and we have plenty of time to make that gap up to compete for the championship. We just need to string together some solid point nights and hopefully that will start this weekend at K-C."

The Jam-Pow Motorsports team has one lone event on their upcoming weekend schedule, as the #83 team will trek to the K-C Raceway in Chillicothe, Ohio on Saturday night, April 12 for the 'Glockner 50.' The Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series will sanction the $10,000 to win event on Saturday and the cameras of the SPEED Channel will be on hand to tape all of the dirt-slinging action for broadcast later in the year.
