YORK HAVEN, Penn. (April 8) - Barry Klinedinst Motorsports and the Back-to-Back (2006/2007) Mid-Atlantic Championship Series (MACS) Champion Jason Covert would like to welcome new sponsors to the team for the 2008 season. VP Racing Fuels, Ohlins Shocks, and Port City Racing have all joined forces with Jason Covert and Barry Klinedinst Motorsports for 2008. "We are very proud to be associated with these company's," Covert commented. "We welcome these businesses with open arms and hope we can have continued success not only for them but for all of our sponsor's that have supported us throughout the years. We appreciate and thank all of them for everything they have done for us."
Jason kicked off his 2008 season at Williams Grove Speedway in Mechanicsburg, PA Friday, March 28. Covert picked up a heat race win before finishing fourth in the 25-lap feature behind race winner Andy Anderson, Gary Stuhler, and J.T. Spence. "We had a good car but we weren't as good as we should have been," Jason said via telephone.
This upcoming weekend the BK Motorsports team will be in action at Bill Sawyer's Virginia Motor Speedway on Friday, April 11 for the World of Outlaws Late Model Series sanctioned 'Rumble on the River 4' that will pay $10,000 to the winner. "I love going to Virginia," Covert claimed, "it is definitely one of if not my favorite place to go!" Jason and team will then kick off the 2008 Mid-Atlantic Championship Series (MACS) season where he claimed both of his MACS championships, 'The Rock' Allegany County Speedway in Cumberland, MD on Saturday, April 12. On Sunday, April 13 they will stay on the MACS trail with a visit to Hesston Speedway in Hesston, PA. "We really enjoy both Cumberland and Hesston too," said Covert, "we have won at both places with the MACS and hope we can start off '08 with the same success as we have had in the past." Both MACS events are $5,000 to win events.
