BRIGHT, Ind. (April 3) - Scott James and his #83 team trekked to the historic Brownstown Speedway in Brownstown, Indiana on Saturday night, March 29 to resume the 2008 Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series schedule.  The annual 'Indiana Icebreaker' was on tap at the 1/4-mile, semi-banked oval and a $10,000 top prize was up for grabs.  Scott was involved in an unfortunate heat race incident that caused him to unload his backup car for the remainder of the show.

After taking a Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series provisional to gain access into the 50-lap A-Main, Scott passed ten cars from his twenty-third starting spot to salvage a thirteenth place performance.  The driver known as the "Silver Shark" is now eighth in the latest version of the series point standings following Brownstown.  You can view complete results online at www.lucasdirt.com!

"It was just one of those weekends that you would rather forget about," stated James yesterday via telephone.  "We got torn up in the heat race and had to unload the backup car for the feature.  It was good though, as we started last and actually got up inside of the top ten briefly before hitting a rut in the track, which bent a suspension piece.  We salvaged a thirteenth place finish and moved up a couple of spots in the points, so it definitely could have been worse."

The #83 team will travel south to the Peachtree State of Georgia this weekend for a trio of Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series events.  The Swainsboro Raceway in Swainsboro, Georgia will kick things off tonight, April 3 with a $7,000 to win show.  The Screven Motor Speedway in Sylvania, Georgia will then host the second night of racing action on Friday, April 4 with a $10,000 to win race.  The weekend finale will be held at the Golden Isles Speedway in Brunswick, Georgia on Saturday evening, April 5.  The $10,000 to win event at GIS will be taped by the cameras of the SPEED Channel for viewing later in the season.  You can learn more about the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series tripleheader weekend online at www.lucasdirt.com!
