Ben Shelton VICKSBURG, Miss. (March 31) - This Saturday, April 5th, Bub McCool will be in action behind the wheel of his #57j Trakstar/Tony Barker Racing Engine Super Late Model at Jackson Motor Speedway in Byram, Mississippi with the Mississippi State Championship Challenge Series (MSCCS) Super Late Models.
Last weekend, McCool competed with the World of Outlaw Super Late Models in the March Thru Dixie 100 at Pike County Speedway in Magnolia, Mississippi. On Friday night, McCool struggled in qualifying and his heat race, which pinned him deep in a b-main on Saturday night. He was able to pass a few cars in his b-main, but fell short of transferring to the main event. However, due to points accumulated from race's run with the WoO series in 2007, Bub was awarded with a provisional for the feature event. His time in the feature event would be short lived though as he broke an axle ending his night. He was credited with a 22nd place finish.
This Saturday night McCool Motorsports will regroup and head to the newly renovated Jackson Motor Speedway in Byram, Mississippi for a $2,500 to win, 40 lap event with the MSCCS Super Late Models. The event will mark the first event held at JMS under new owner, Don Cliburn, who has made a great deal of improvements to the Central Mississippi oval over the off season.
