Delph Communications VINCENNES, Ind. (March 28) - The Scott Clippinger Racing (SCR) team, who amicably parted ways with Bryan Barber following Speedweeks in Florida, will return to Dirt Late Model competition this upcoming weekend! Veteran Vincennes, Indiana driver Kevin Claycomb will come out of retirement to pilot the team's #16c MasterSbilt / Jay Dickens entry. Kevin, who raced a few times for the SCR team last fall at the Kentucky Lake Motor Speedway, will be making his full-time return to Dirt Late Model racing following several years away from the sport.
The newly-formed combination will kick-off their season together tonight, March 28, at the Paducah International Raceway in Paducah, Kentucky. A special NASCAR Night will take place tonight at PIR in their season opener. The #16c team will then trek to the Brownstown Speedway in Brownstown, Indiana on Saturday, March 29 for the annual running of the 'Indiana Icebreaker.' The Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series will once again sanction the event, which will be highlighted by a $10,000 to win A-Main. You can learn more about each of these races online at www.paducahinternationalraceway.com and www.brownstownspeedway.com.
Kevin has an impressive resume to his credit, even though he has been retired for several years. He was the 1991 UMP National Champion and has three UMP Summernationals victories to his credit (Paducah, KY - Haubstadt, IN - Highland, IL). Kevin is also a two-time winner of the 'Kenny Simpson Memorial' at the Brownstown (IN) Speedway, as he scored victories in 1993 and 1999.
A new website will be launched for the SCR team and Kevin Claycomb as soon as all of the sponsor details are worked out! Media Contact: Ryan Delph - Delph Communications www.delphcommunications.com
