HUNTERSVILLE, N.C. (March 27) - G.R. Smith and his #22 Dirt Late Model team visited victory lane for the first time in 2008 on Friday night, March 21 at the Dublin Motor Speedway in Dublin, North Carolina! G.R. timed in second fastest in qualifying, which earned him the outside front row starting spot for the A-Main. The Huntersville, North Carolina native inherited the lead around the halfway point of the feature event and then held off Timmy Blackwell, Dean Bowen, Jason Fitzgerald, and Chris Blackwell to record the $2,000 top prize. You can view complete results from Dublin online at www.dublinspeedway.com.

The following night saw the Premier Motorsports team in action at the Fayetteville Motor Speedway in Fayetteville, North Carolina. G.R. qualified tenth quickest for the $2,500 to win event on Saturday, March 22, but got turned around early in the A-Main, which sent him to the rear of the field. Not deterred, G.R. regained all of the spots that he lost from the incident throughout the course of the race and brought his #22 Rocket / Clements Impala SS home in the tenth position. You can view complete results from Fayetteville by visiting www.fayettevillemotorspeedway.net.

"Man, it feels good to get the monkey off my back and get back into victory lane again," stated Smith earlier in the week. "Our car was very good on Friday night at Dublin, but I actually think it may have been a little better on Saturday at Fayetteville. We just got turned around early on in the race and had to battle back from the tail of the field. I am very excited about how the car is performing right now and I am looking forward to see how the rest of the season goes!"

The Premier Motorsports team has another doubleheader weekend ahead of them, as they have two Dirt Late Model events in North Carolina and Georgia on tap. The Dublin Motor Speedway in Dublin, North Carolina will once again pay $2,000 to win on Friday night, March 28. The following night will see G.R. and his #22 team tackle the Gordon Park Speedway in Augusta, Georgia. The Carolina Clash Late Model Series will host the $4,000 to win show at Gordon Park on Saturday evening, which also boasts an additional $500 bounty if a driver can beat Ed Basey. You can learn more about each of these races online at www.dublinspeedway.com and www.carolinaclash.com.

In other news, G.R. has placed all of his current apparel on sale for only $10.00! He will be receiving his new 2008 shirts very soon, so he has decided to discount his entire current inventory. Be sure to check out www.grsmith22.com to order your discounted t-shirts or visit G.R. at the track!
