Ben Shelton TRUMANN, Ark. (March 25) - Kyle Beard traveled to Alabama and Mississippi over the weekend to compete in a pair of challenge events between the AMP & MSCCS Late Model Series.
Action got underway for Beard Motorsports on Friday night at North Alabama Speedway in Tuscumbia, Alabama in a $2,000 to win event. Kyle qualified 6th in his group, which earned him a 4th starting spot in his qualifier. He finished 2nd in the qualifier, which transferred him to the main event. Beard started 13th in the feature event and when the checkered flag flew he was credited with a 9th place finish.
On Saturday night, the team headed west to North Mississippi Speedway in Corinth, Mississippi for night #2 of the AMP/MSCCS Challenge event, which paid $2,500 to win. Once again, Kyle timed in 6th in his group and started 4th in his qualifier. He finished 3rd in the qualifier, which locked him into the feature. In the feature event, Kyle battled a loose race car for much of the race, but he still managed to come away with an 11th place finish. This weekend, Kyle will once again return to action with the Arkansas Motorsports Professionals (A.M.P.) Super Late Models as he heads to Monticello Speedway in Monticello, Arkansas for a $1,500 to win event. For more information on the event, please visit www.AMPSeries.com .
