Bill Roth PADUCAH, Ky. (March 24) - Paducah International Raceway has announced that NASCAR star Kenny Wallace will join Ken Schrader and two-time NASCAR Cup Champion Tony Stewart for Opening Night this Friday.
Both Wallace and Schrader will compete in the PIR Modified division while Stewart will compete in the PIR Late Model division.
A full race program is on tap, including heats and feature races for Late Models, Modifieds, Crate Late Models, Street Stocks, Warriors, and Vintage Racers.
PIR is nationally known for appearances of major NASCAR stars. Friday evening Stewart, Schrader, and Wallace will not only appear, they will actually compete with the PIR drivers as the curtain goes up on another season of high-bankin' dirt-track action.
Pit gates open at 4 PM, the Grandstand Ticket Office and Gates will open at 5 PM. Racing will begin at 7:30 PM. Adult grandstand admission for this special event is $15, children 12 and under are free. Pit admission is $25.
NASCAR Stars Dale Earnhardt, Jr, Ken Schrader, and Promoter Bob Sargent purchased Paducah International Raceway in November of 2005. Two-time NASCAR Champion Tony Stewart joined the trio of Co-Owners as a partner in September of 2006. In 2008 the 3/8th mile high-banked oval will host several high profile events including three NASCAR Nights, the World of Outlaws Sprint Cars, the USA World 50, and the Tri-Track Challenge.
