BEAR LAKE, Penn. (March 24) - Chub Frank won't merely continue his pursuit of the 2008 World of Outlaws Late Model Series championship this weekend (March 28-29) at Pike County Speedway in Magnolia, Miss.

The inaugural 'March Through Dixie 100' at the three-eighths-mile oval - the first World of Outlaws event since the Alltel DIRTcar Nationals in Florida six weeks ago - will mark Chub's official debut as a member of the American Racer tire team.

Coming off a 2007 campaign in which he led the WoO LMS in A-Main wins and finished a career-high second in the point's standings, Chub has announced that this season he will use American Racer tires on his self-owned dirt Late Models.

"It was just a business decision," said Chub, a nationally-known star from Bear Lake, Pa. "American Racer has really been working hard on their dirt Late Model tire program and right now I think they have a better product, so I'm looking forward to running their tires on my cars this year."

Chub has agreed to use American Racer brand tires on his Lester Buildings/Corry Rubber/All Star Performance/Corry Laser/Slavic Corporation/Farr MotorSports/Lake Shore Paving/Custom Race Engines Chevrolet Impala SS Rocket Chassis No. 1* in all WoO LMS events that are not run under a one-manufacturer tire rule. The tour has several events which mandate the use of Hoosier tires.

Since last month's Alltel DIRTcar Nationals was one of the WoO LMS programs that had a tire rule in effect, Pike County Speedway's two-day, $20,000-to-win show this weekend will provide Chub his first opportunity to bolt on American Racer rubber. He enters the weekend ranked eighth in the tour points standings after two events in Florida.

Chub joins defending WoO LMS champion Steve Francis in making the move to American Racer tires in 2008.

"I don't think it'll take that long for us to figure out the American Racers," said Chub. "Having Francis on them as well this year will help both of us when we're on the road, and I'm sure Jeremy Miller (a top Northeast driver who uses American Racers) will help us out if we have any questions about the tires."

American Racer tires are produced by Race Tires America, an operating division of Specialty Tires America, Inc. Specialty Tire America, Inc. manufactures bias-ply and radial tires for racing and a variety of other niche markets at their Indiana, Pa., and Unicoi, Tenn., manufacturing plants.

Chub, who is celebrating 30 years as a race car driver in 2008, has not raced since finishing second in the Alltel DIRTcar Nationals finale on Feb. 16. He's spent the past six weeks preparing his equipment for a busy season ahead and also organizing his new hauler and trailer, which he picked up in Nebraska two weeks ago.
