YORK, Penn. (March 19) - A day removed from being rained-out at the Volunteer (TN) Speedway, Rick Eckert and his #24 Dirt Late Model team made the trek back to the Hagerstown Speedway in Hagerstown, Maryland on Saturday, March 15. All of the driving turned out to be worthwhile, as Rick reached victory lane for the second straight time at Hagerstown!

After a convincing win in the first heat race, the field was inverted eight positions prior to the running of the A-Main. Rick rolled off from the outside of the fourth row for the $2,000 to win feature event and immediately started his march to the front of the field. The York, Pennsylvania native blew by leader Josh Richards, who started on the pole, on lap 16 and then paced the field for the remaining 14 circuits to record his second win of the 2008 season. Rick's Raye Vest / J&J Steel #24 GRT / Custom entry crossed underneath the checkers ahead of Roy Deese, Jr., Josh Richards, J.T. Spence, and Dan Stone. "It was a great run for us last Saturday at Hagerstown," quoted Eckert this week via telephone. "The track was in excellent shape after it got ran in and during the feature, it was really racy. It was a lot of fun to be able to start eighth and take the lead at the halfway point in the race. I have to thank my crew, family, and sponsors for their support and dedication and hopefully we can keep visiting victory lane a whole bunch throughout the 2008 racing season!"

The Raye Vest Racing team will take the March 21-22 weekend off from Dirt Late Model competition. The #24 team will use the off-weekend to prepare their cars for the upcoming World of Outlaws Late Model Series event at the Pike County Speedway in Magnolia, Mississippi. A $20,000 to win show will be held on March 28-29 at Pike County and Rick comes into the WOOLMS event sixth in the latest version of the series point standings.
