Bob Appleget CHATSWORTH, Ga. (March 18) - After the first two attempts by North Georgia Speedway to kick off the 2008 racing season the third mile speed plant hopes the third time is the charm. This Saturday, March 22, North Georgia's place to race will open the season with racing in all regular divisions.
"Our intention was to open the season with the Ernest Young Memorial, but mother nature took care of that, twice," said promoter Monty Morrow. "We will open this Saturday with a regular show and then run the Ernest Young the following Friday."
The Saturday opener will feature Super Late Models, Limited/Crate/Sportsman, Hobby, Mini Stock and Econo Bombers. Pit gates will open at 2 pm, grandstands at 3 pm with racing at 6 pm. Adult grandstand tickets are $12, kids 6-11 are $3 and under six are free. Pit passes are $22.
On the following Friday, March 28, North Georgia Speedway will host the Southern All Star Series with the running of the $5,000 to win Ernest Young Memorial. On Saturday night the Southern All Star Series will be at Cleveland Speedway for the Sonya's Used Cars Shamrock 60 paying $7,500 to win.
