CLEVELAND, Tenn. (March 13) - The 13th running of Sonya's Used Cars Shamrock 60 will highlight the season opener at Cleveland Speedway this Saturday night. This years Shamrock will be part of a Southern All Star double header and will pay $7,500 to the winner.

Last weeks season opener at North Georgia Speedway, the Ernest Young Memorial, was weathered out and will be run this Friday the night before the Shamrock at Cleveland Speedway. This will make it a two-race weekend for the Southern All Star competitors as well as the local Super Late Model racers.

To make it even more interesting Car Smart of Cleveland will put up a $2,500 bonus for any driver to win both events. If one driver does not win both events there will be $500 paid to the highest combined finisher.

"We can't do anything about the weather, but last weeks weather out at North Georgia just sweetened the pot for the racers and fans of both race tracks and Southern All Star Series," said Monty Morrow from the grader at Cleveland Speedway this morning. "It is time we are racing and I plan to do everything in my power to race this weekend."

Not only can one driver walk away with $15,000 this weekend if he is fast qualifier he can pick up another $250 compliments of Midnight Oil Racing Fuels with $100 going to the second fastest qualifier. Plus the fast qualifier in the Limited/Crate Late Model event will pick up $100 and $50 will go to the second highest qualifier.

The other divisions running with the Super Late Models will be the Limited/Crate Late Models and both A and B Hobby. Pit gates will open at 2 pm and the grandstands at 3 pm. Racing is scheduled to start at 6 pm. Adult grandstand tickets are $17 with kids 6-11 $3 and under six are free. Pit passes for this special event will be $30.
