BULLS GAP, Tenn. (March 12) - The NASCAR events at Bristol Motor Speedway isn't the only racing scheduled in East Tennessee this weekend.

Rusty Wallace Toyota of Morristown presents the Toyota Tundra "Running of the Bulls," featuring nightly $10,000-to-win ... $700-to-start Super Late Model shows on both Friday, March 14 and Saturday, March 15 at Volunteer Speedway. Each night will feature hotlaps, qualifying, heat races, last chance consolation(s), and a $10,000-to-win ... 100-lap Running of the Bulls main event. A $100 entry fee for each night's racing, payable at the pit gate upon sign-in, will be charged.

A partial list of drivers expected to compete in the Toyota Tundra Run with the Bulls events include Scott Bloomquist of Mooresburg, Tenn., Jimmy Owens of Newport, Tenn., Shannon Babb of Mowequa, Ill., Rick Eckert of York, Pa., Dan Schlieper of Sullivan, Wis., Ray Cook of Brasstown, N.C., Brandon Kinzer of Allen, Ky., Austin Dillon of Welcome, N.C. (teenage grandson of legendary NASCAR team owner Richard Childress), Wayne Chinn of Bradford, Ohio, Damon Eller of Crumpler, N.C., Eric Jacobsen of Santa Cruz, Calif., and many more.

Heading the list of East Tennessee drivers looking to defend their home turf against the out-of-state invaders include four-time Volunteer Speedway track champion Vic "The Thrill" Hill of Morristown (1997, '98, 2000 & '05), Kerry Jones of Bristol, Mike Smith of Rogersville, Jeff Maupin of Greeneville, Bryan Hendrix of Knoxville, Shanon Buckingham of Morristown, Herman Goddard of Knoxville, Mark Douglas of Knoxville, Billy Ogle Jr. of Knoxville, Mike Marlar of Winfield, Greg Burchett of Church Hill, Shane Roberts of Blountville, Bobby Mays of Jonesborough, and several others.

Crate Late Models will qualify on Friday, March 14 and run a 25-lap feature on Saturday, March 15.

Adult grandstand admission nightly is $25, youth ages 7-14 $6, with 6-and-under admitted free. Pit passes and backside tier-parking $35 for everyone entering the pit gate.

The pit gate will open each day at 3 p.m., with the grandstands opening daily at 5 p.m. The driver's meeting will take place in the backside pits at 6 p.m. nightly. Hotlaps are tentatively scheduled to begin each evening around 6:30 p.m., to be followed by qualifying and then racing action.

With the Advance Auto Parts Thunder Series $10,000-to-win "10th Annual Spring Thaw 100" having been postponed due to inclement weather the weekend of Feb. 29-March 1, now with the Toyota Tundra Running of the Bulls scheduled on Friday and Saturday, March 14-15, it's possible for one Super Late Model competitor to win $30,000 on back-to-back weekends of racing at Volunteer Speedway should they sweep all three 100-lap feature events.

***Note: An evening of open practice is scheduled Thursday, March 13 for all classes (Super Late Model, Crate Late Model, Hobby Stock, Mini Stock and IMCA Open Wheel Modified) from 6:30-10:30 p.m. Pit admission will be $20 for everyone entering the pit gate.
