FERGUSON PREPARES FOR CAROLINA CLASH SERIES ROOKIE RUN, LAUNCHES NEW WEBSITE

CHARLOTTE, N.C. (March 12) - Young late model pilot Chris Ferguson has announced his intent to challenge for the 2008 PBM Performance Parts Rookie of the Year title on the Carolina Clash Super Late Model Series Tour. Ferguson made a few super late model starts in 2007 and picked up two wins after three successful full seasons behind the wheel of a crate late model. Ferguson has set his goals high for 2008 against a bumper crop of RoTY candidates and several perennial Carolina Clash favorites. "I know we can give these guys a run for their money. We have a great chassis and engine combination so if the driver can get his job done we should be in pretty good shape." said the youngster.

Ferguson begins his quest for the title this Saturday night, March 15th at the Lancaster Speedway. The historic Lancaster, SC oval will host a fifty lap $5000 to win event which serves as the Carolina Clash season opener. Ferguson will face the likes of four time series champion Ricky Weeks as well as fellow RoTY candidates Terry Lumley, Daniel Baggerly, Tim Allen, Scott Neighbors and Shane Riner. "We feel like we can be competitive right out of the box at Lancaster. We have had some good runs there in our crate car so we hope we can build on that." said the driver known as Fergy by has many fans.

Ferguson got his season started two weeks ago at Cherokee Speedway's O'Reilly Southern All Stars East March Madness VI event on Sunday March 2nd. Fergy qualified sixth fastest in his heat race group. Ferguson moved forward in the heat but fell just shy of a transfer spot in the heat race but took a convincing win in the first consolation race. Ferguson hung around the top fifteen throughout the sixty lapper, but late in the going was forced pitside with overheating problems. "The car was really good but the track was kind of rough and we just couldn't get going. I didn't want to hurt the motor so I pulled in so we finished 18th. We got to make a lot of laps though so that helped us out a bunch." said Fergy.

Ferguson and his Fergy Time Racing Team, in association with Dixie Dirt Productions, is also proud to announce the launch of Chris' new website. The site located at www.chrisfergusonracing.com will closely follow Ferguson as he travels the Carolina Clash circuit and other selected special super late model events.
