BRIGHT, Ind. (March 7) - Scott James, of Bright, Indiana, traveled west to Las Vegas, Nevada on Thursday and Friday, February 28-29 for the annual running of the 'Las Vegas Dirt Classic.' The Western Allstars Series sanctioned the pair of $3,000 to win shows at the Dirt Track at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway last week. Aboard Oregon car owner Rick Wyatt's #83 Rocket machine, Scott had a very solid two-day stint in "Sin City," as he finished second in both 30-lap feature events!

On Thursday, February 28, Scott timed in sixth quickest overall before winning his heat race. After rolling off from the outside of the front row for the $3,000 to win A-Main, the driver known as the "Silver Shark" wound up a runner-up to winner Jimmy Mars in night one of the 'Las Vegas Dirt Classic.' In night two on Friday, Scott laid down the quickest lap around the Vegas speedplant in qualifying and once again won his heat race. Following a second place performance in the dash, Scott led most of the main event from his outside front row starting spot. However, Tim McCreadie got by his #83 entry late in the race and Scott once again was forced to settle for a runner-up effort. "We had a great car all weekend, but unfortunately we could not get it into victory lane," quoted James upon returning home from Vegas this week. "I have to thank Rick (Wyatt) and his team because they provided me with awesome equipment to run out there. That is why I am a little disappointed that I could not get at least one win for those guys. The late cautions both nights played to my disadvantage, but overall, it was a great trip and I look forward to heading back out west to race as soon as possible!"

It will be a few more weeks until Scott jumps back into his regular ride with Ron Powell and the Jam-Pow Motorsports team. Scott will pilot his Powell Motorsports / Baylor Trucking / Welsh Development & Excavation / Dann Marine Towing #83 Rocket / Jay Dickens entry again at the Florence Speedway in Union, Kentucky on Saturday, March 22. A $5,000 payday is up for grabs in the annual running of the 'Spring 50' on the 22nd. More information concerning the unsanctioned race will be made available as the event nears!

The Jam-Pow Motorsports team would like to thank all of their sponsors including: Powell Motorsports, Baylor Trucking, Welsh Development & Excavation, Dann Marine Towing, Rocket Chassis, Jay Dickens Racing Engines, Nowland/Deason Interiors, American Racer Tires, Impact Race Products, Weld Racing Wheels, Peterson Fluid Systems, VP Racing Fuels, Stealth Carburetors, Phase II Sign Supply, Delph Communications, Mason Racin', Allstar Performance, Wilwood, Bert Transmissions, Dyer's Top Rods, Chapman Heads, C-Line Engineering, RaceCo Graphics, Penske Shocks, PRC Racing, Carbon-X, Goodridge Hose & Fittings, Valvoline, Behlings Racing Products, Wiles Driveshafts, and Wulff Pumps.
