VICKSBURG, Miss. (March 3) - After a weekend away from the track, Bub McCool will be returning to action behind the wheel of his #57j Trakstar/Barker Racing Engine Super Late Model next weekend, March 7th-8th at Columbus Speedway in Columbus Mississippi for the 7th Annual Brown Engineering Rebel Challenge.

Bub was last in action at Green Valley Speedway in Gadsden, Alabama for the Bama Bash over the weekend on February 23rd & 24th. He timed in 5th out of 40 entries and finished 2nd in his heat race, which earned him a spot in the main event. Bub was running fourth in the feature when the cam in the motor broke ending his day.

McCool will look to turn his luck around this weekend at Columbus Speedway in the 7th Annual Brown Engineering Rebel Challenge. Bub already has one feature win at Columbus Speedway in 2008. In addition, he will be able to return to a comfort level with his car, as his primary car that was heavily damaged at Winchester Speedway a few weeks ago has been repaired and is ready for action.

The weekend will get underway with an open practice session on Thursday night from 7pm to 9pm. On Friday, March 7th, twin $1,500 to win Super Late Model features will be held with the field divided into the two features and as many as 26 cars starting each feature event. On Saturday night, the field will start fresh with a $7,000 to win and $400 to start Super Late Model event featuring time trials, qualifiers, and the 50 lap main event.
