CARTERSVILLE, Ga. (February 29) - Sunoco Race Fuel and the Bearden Oil Company of Eastman, GA will sponsor the 2008 NeSmith Chevrolet Rookie of the Year Award. The top rookie driver at the end of the 2008 NeSmith Chevrolet Dirt Late Model Series season will receive $5,000 from Sunoco Race Fuel and a new chassis with the make to be determined.

The NeSmith Chevrolet Dirt Late Model Series has 17 Sunoco Race Fuel Rookie of the Year candidates registered for the 2008 National Tour, and 12 of those drivers are currently in the top 50 of the current point standings.

The top Sunoco Race Fuel Rookie of the Year candidates include Jason Hiett of Lincoln, AL, Scott Knowles of Lanett, AL, Hunter Peacock of Macon, GA, Steve Godsey of Bedford, IN, Josh Morrow of Murphy, NC, Eric Cooley of Fulton, MS, Jim Moon of Zionsville, IN, Richard Stephens of Phenix City, AL, Chad Wallace of LaGrange, GA, Frank Wilson of Harold, FL, Randy Hill of Dalton, GA, and Marcus Minga of Shannon, MS.

The next NeSmith Chevrolet DLMS National Touring event for the Sunoco Race Fuel Rookie of the Year candidates will be a two-day show at Flomaton Speedway in Flomaton, AL on March 21-22 highlighted by a 75-lap $5,000-to-win main event.
