BATESVILLE, Ark. (February 29) - Billy Moyer, of Batesville, Arkansas, recently returned home following a great start to his 2008 racing season in Georgia and Florida. The Dirt Late Model Hall of Famer, who has more than 30 years of racing experience and has won nearly every race imaginable, kicked off his '08 campaign in grand fashion. Billy entered eighteen events from January 23-February 16 at three different southern venues: Golden Isles (GA) Speedway, East Bay (FL) Raceway Park, and Volusia (FL) Speedway Park. In all, the driver known as "Mr. Smooth" reached victory lane on six different occasions, while racking up an unbelievable twelve Top Five finishes and fourteen Top Ten performances.

Of his six trips to victory lane, three of them came during the 'Winternationals' at the East Bay Raceway Park in Gibsonton, Florida, while the other three occurred during the 'Alltel DIRTcar Nationals' at the Volusia Speedway Park in Barberville, Florida. The driver of the Banner Valley Hauling / J&J Steel / Karl Chevrolet / Minx Show Palace / Universal Concrete / Car City / Watters Autoland #21 Victory Circle by Moyer M1 / Clements machine also left Florida leading the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series point standings and tied for the World of Outlaws Late Model Series point lead. By virtue of all of his success at East Bay and Volusia, Billy was also named the 'Winternationals' and the 'Alltel DIRTcar Nationals' Point Champion!

You can view a complete race-by-race recap from "Speedweeks 2008" online at www.billymoyer.com.

"Things couldn't have gone much better than what they did in Georgia and Florida," commented the soft-spoken Moyer recently. "It is tough to win that many races and run that consistent in this day in age because there are so many good drivers out there with such good equipment. I really liked these Victory Circle cars last year, but for whatever reason, we couldn't get into victory lane with them. Everyone worked real hard over the off-season to tweak on the cars and I couldn't be any happier with the results!"

Since Billy won a race at the Volusia (FL) Speedway Park during the 'Alltel DIRTcar Nationals,' he is now eligible to win $12,000 from the Alltel Allstar Contest. Each winner from the 'Alltel DIRTcar Nationals' is eligible and the fans get to decide who receives the $12,000 cash award. You can vote for Billy now through Sunday, March 16 online at www.alltelallstar.com. Billy and the BMR team appreciate your vote!!!

The #21 team is scheduled to take a few more weeks off from Dirt Late Model action before entering the three-day 'March Madness' event at the Kentucky Lake Motor Speedway in Calvert City, Kentucky. The trio of unsanctioned races will take place at KLMS from March 13-15 and will pay $5,000 to win, $5,000 to win, and $10,000 to win respectively. More information concerning 'March Madness' will be made available as the race nears!
