CHICKAMAUGA, Ga. (February 29) - Dale McDowell got his 2008 racing season started on the right foot last weekend, as he not only took home the checkers in the Super Late Model portion of the 'Bama Bash,' but he also recorded the victory in the Crate Late Model division. The 11th Annual 'Bama Bash' took place on February 23-24 at the Green Valley Speedway in Glencoe, Alabama and a strong field of cars was present in both classes. Dale started third in the Crate Late Model portion of the program on Sunday, February 24 and led laps 6-27 of the time-shortened A-Main to register the $5,000 triumph over Ronnie Johnson.

The Chickamauga, Georgia native was even more impressive in his #17m Super Late Model. Dale timed in third quickest in qualifying on Saturday, February 23 and later won his competitive heat race. After starting third in the 75-lap feature event on Sunday, Dale led all but one lap during this year's version of the 'Bama Bash' to reach victory lane in front of Ronnie Johnson, Clint Smith, Ray Cook, and Brad Neat. The driver known as the "MacDaddy" received a cool $10,000 for his second career ' Bama Bash' title! "It was definitely a great weekend for Dale McDowell Racing at Green Valley," quoted McDowell this week via telephone. "I wasn't planning on even running the crate car until the guy I prepared it for backed out on racing during the Bama Bash weekend. So, I decided that instead of having the car just sit there, I might as well get behind the wheel. It couldn't have worked out any better for us. Both cars worked really well and hopefully this is the start to a great 2008 racing season for DMR!"

The Dale McDowell Racing (DMR) team will next hit the track on Saturday, March 8 at the North Georgia Speedway in Chatsworth, Georgia. The O'Reilly Southern Allstars Series (OSAS) will sanction the racing activity at the northern Georgia facility next weekend and a $5,000 top prize is up for grabs. More information concerning this race will be made available in next week's press release!

UPCOMING SCHEDULE:
March 8 | North Georgia Speedway, OSAS | $5,000 to win
March 15 | Cleveland (TN) Speedway, OSAS | $7,500 to win
March 21-22 | Volunteer (TN) Speedway, AAPTS | $10,000 to win
