Delph Communications BRIGHT, Ind. (February 27) - The Jam-Pow Motorsports team recently returned home following a two-week stint in the Sunshine State of Florida, which kicked-off their 2008 racing season. Scott James entered ten Dirt Late Model events at the East Bay (FL) Raceway Park and the Volusia (FL) Speedway Park from February 4-15. The Bright, Indiana driver found his way into six feature events during his "Speedweeks 2008" journey, five in his own equipment at East Bay and one in the Gerstner Plumbing #00 ride at Volusia.
His best finish so far in '08 came in the Gerstner ride, as Scott passed fifteen cars in the $7,000 to win A-Main on Monday, February 11 to earn a solid seventh place performance at VSP. He was driving the borrowed ride from the Illinois car owner due to the fast, rough conditions that were present during the 'Alltel DIRTcar Nationals' at Volusia. The driver known as the "Silver Shark" came out of the annual 'Winternationals' at East Bay, one week earlier, eleventh in the latest version of the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series point standings. You can view Scott's results from the two-week stretch below or you can read a race-by-race recap from each event online at www.scottjamesmotorsports.com!

"It was a typical Speedweeks for us I guess in the fact that you never make enough money to justify the trip, but you have to go down there," commented James earlier in the week. "We did not have a horrible start to our season, but we did not set the world on fire by any means either. So, you just have to realize that Speedweeks is Speedweeks and your season is not based solely on those two weeks. We came out eleventh in the Lucas Oil point standings, which is decent, so now we just need to focus on the rest of our season and gear up for a run at the series Championship, which is ultimately our goal."
Before his Ron Powell-owned #83 Rocket / Jay Dickens machine hits the track again on March 22 at the Florence (KY) Speedway, Scott will head west to the Dirt Track at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway this week! Scott is slated to drive Rick Wyatt's #83 entry during the two-day 'Las Vegas Dirt Classic' at LVMS this Thursday and Friday, February 28-29. The Western Allstars Series will sanction the pair of $3,000 to win events later in the week at the top-notch dirt facility, which is located just outside of Las Vegas, Nevada. Both nights of racing action will be highlighted by 30-lap main events. You can learn more about the 'Las Vegas Dirt Classic' online at www.lvms.com.
"I have to thank Rick (Wyatt) for giving me the opportunity to drive his equipment again this week," James went on to mention. "Our team is regrouping from Speedweeks and there isn't really anything going on around home, so it is a perfect opportunity to head to Vegas to do some more racing. I was able to win in his car last November at Manzanita and the car ran real well the following week at Vegas. Hopefully, we can make the car a little better and be a threat to win this Thursday and Friday!"
