Casebolt Racing RICHMOND, Ind. (February 22) - Steve Casebolt Racing came on strong at the end of the weeklong East Bay Raceway competition for the three points races. The first 3 races saw the team struggle with mechanical difficulties and early season troubles. In all 3 races the team failed to transfer to the nights main event. "By the end of night 3 we had switched to a backup car and had improved considerably," said Steve.
When the first point's night started (Thursday's show), Steve Casebolt Racing came out of the gates with the fastest qualifying time in their group. A heat race win immediately followed and the team ran a strong 4th in the main event.
The fifth saw the team advance to the main event via a Lucas Oil Provisional. The night ended with a 15th place finish. "I wish we hadn't got a lap down early in the race. In the late stages of the race, our tire choice proved to be the best as we was passing cars that was in the top ten and on the lead lap", stated Casebolt.
The final night of East Bay action saw Steve Casebolt Racing advance to the feature after winning their B-Main ahead of Don O'Neal and Earl Pearson, Jr. Casebolt started in the 19th position and faded to 25th place before a pit stop got Steve going. The team made quick repairs after a skirmish with Josh McGuire, and Steve drove his orange and white number C9 as high as 8th place before eventually finishing 12th in the week's grand finale.
The team left East Bay a strong sixth in points, which is a huge improvement over years past. In 2007, Casebolt found him self 75th in points and wound up finishing 3rd in the final points standings. "It feels good to have a great start to the 2008 season. I look for big things to come of the battle for the championship," said Steve.
Steve Casebolt is proud to announce a new alliance with Dixie Chopper. Beginning with 32nd Annual Dart Winternationals at East Bay Raceway Park, Steve carried the Dixie Choppers brand name on board the orange and white number C9. "We are just thrilled to have Dixie Chopper on board with us for our Lucas Oil Late Model Series Campaign this year", stated Steve. Dixie Chopper makes a complete line of high quality mowers nicknamed "The World's Fastest Lawn Mower".
In 1980 Art Evans made the first Dixie Chopper. Little did anyone know that he would lead the way to revolutionizing the entire lawn and garden industry. Dixie Choppers are known for their performance, productivity and reliability. Still family owned and operated, near Greencastle, Indiana. Dixie Chopper takes great pride in producing the best mid-mount, zero turning mowers in the industry. Through the years manufacturing processes and procedures have changed, however, their corporate values have remained constant. One driving value they have is to produce a mower that has many years of useable life left after it is paid for. Dixie Chopper may not be the first mower you have ever purchased, but chances are it will be the last. Much thought and consideration goes into the making of the Dixie Chopper. Dixie Chopper works hard to get the maximum life from belts, component parts and many other things to extend the life of the Dixie Chopper.
Steve Casebolt has already announced a partnership with Fatheadz Sunglasses this year and as Dixie Choppers comes on board, '08 is shaping up to be a very exciting season for him and his new race team. "I am overwhelmed that Dixie Choppers has shown an interest in us and we hope to go out there and do a great job for them. To think that two top notch companies want me to represent them and their products is a huge compliment to me and everyone involved with my team. After learning more about Dixie Chopper and seeing their product line I can't see why everybody doesn't already have a Dixie Chopper. As soon as the snow melts here in Indiana, I can't wait to see how fast we can mow the grass around our shop. I'm sure it will have the neighbors jealous", stated Casebolt.
